She is very old fashioned. She believes in attendence and wants her work done when she says she wants it done. If you pay attention to the lectures, you'll be fine. Shes a great professor and knows her stuff, just dont piss her off.

I took her class in the spring of 2005 and she is one of the best professors I've ever had. She taught me how to write for academia. The class is not easy, but what is taught will help you throughout your time in college. You just have to concentrate on the format and not the content and you will be fine.

Strange lady. Ended up liking her alright by end of class. She has strange perceptions and interpretations of stories and argues if yours differ from hers, as well as marks you wrong for it. Make sure you understand her thoughts in the notes, thats what your tested on. A lot of reading, read the whole lord of the ring series in a few weeks.

She puts her students down, plays favorites, and says opinions are wrong. She is rude, and is one of those teachers that if it's not her way it's wrong. She will suggest an idea, and when you write about it it's wrong! she is a terrible teacher that does not help her students unless you are her favorite.

Veeeeery boring lectures. Too many handouts. Quizzes aren't really on relevant information. Exams are difficult...6 ID's which require you to rewrite the entire story they are taken from, 3 essays which require pretty much the same. Took me 2 hours and was 6 pages long...TYPED. She is very knowledgable but often goes off into her own little world.

She will give dull, monotone lectures. Will not allow the class to form their own opinions about stories.Reading quizes each week based on irrelavent details in each story(Ex.The character in a story went left on the trail.T or F). 3 tests, 2 1/2 hours in length w/ 8 page-long answers and 2 essays.

She is a very good teacher, but you have to be in every class. Exams are based on class notes. The exams are pretty hard, but she grades fairly. If you are looking for an easy English teacher, she is not it, but if you want a good class and actually want to learn something she is the teacher.

Willard is a good teacher as far as knowing her stuff, and imparting it to her students, but she is very critical of beginning writers. ESL students- Watch out! Also, do NOT hand in work late, she won't accept it, so don't bother.
