I'm in Grad school now, so I can say from my experience that she was one of the worst teachers I had in undergrad. Skip her and take courses at NSCC (way better there). Her pointless hoops you have to jump through are laughable. When you get to a 4-year school, you will see what I mean! Stay inspired and find a teacher that "gets it".

This teacher is horrible every time you go to class its a surprise with what grade u get on the assignment you turned in. She is very downgrading she doesn't make you feel confident in yourself. She should have never been a teacher nor an engineer in her life. this isn't right for her she brings people down with her where she went down!

She's not good at all.. Don't ever take her classes.. Especially, if you're still in ESL classes... She's too old to teach...

Ellie prefers to grade you on how straight your lines are as opposed to knowing the concepts. She completely misses the point and her nit-picking serves to grind a student down instead of inspiring them. I am now in my major (CE), and after 135+ credits I can say that she is in the bottom two of all the professors I have EVER had.

Ellie is one of the best professors I have studied under at SCC. She is very compassionate and caring and she is willing to spend time teaching induviduals who show that they want to learn. It is my oppinion that the students who write negative things about her are the ones who don't take the time to do the work and seek advice when they need it.

I'm at 85 credits with a 3.8 GPA -- I've taken a lot of classes at SCC and have done well in them. Ellie is the worst prof with tenure I've come across, on every level. Expectations are never clearly stated, grades are inconsistent, and she is often late or cancels class. She should have retired ten years ago, when she turned 100.

Ellie is one of the main reasons that the eningeering program as Shoreline is dying. She is a nice lady, but she is not cut out for teaching. She spends a majority of classtime talking about her life and other equally unimportant topics. That said, I got a 4.0 in both classes. Slackers rejoice!

Nice lady outside of class, but her grading is inconsistent, and she would sometime go off on tangents during her explanations. I think she was probably a good teacher in the past, but I think she should have retired a few years ago since she seems out of touch.

she is a great teacher as long as you keep up with the work. if you don't do your hw she'll grind you into the ground like a used smoke.also if she puts a sticky note on your hw to see her you better not blow her off you will be on her**** list.If you have any problems with hw just go and see her for the extra help she always helps.

Very unfair grader. It was about 20 years ago, but I remember it like it was yesterday. She wouldn't count an exam I made up, having missed it in class, and hence gave me a "C". For a course in which everyone else recieved an "A" or a "B". My appeal to her fell on deaf ears. I finished my BS with a 3.5 and MS with 3.7.

Horrible teacher. Maybe she was a good teacher in the past. Her age has definately caught up with her, she talks more about her personal life than she does about statics some days. The Engineering dpt at SCC is terrible.
