He is a very hard marker, but at the same time he definitely knows his stuff. If you actually go to him and ask him questions personally, i feel like he is a LITTLE more lenient with his marking, just because youre showing that you want to learn. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF SPL, you cannot get through his class without it! seriously. overall, he's still good

Boring class, tough marker. He posses the uncanny ability to make simple subject matter complicated and difficult to fully understand. Stay away if you value your GPA.

You need to learn his grading style and quickly in order to do reasonably well in this class. Knowledgeable. The use of labs is dreary and the amount of work assigned (Both in classes and labs) is rather heavy.

Class is boring and the last exam is really hard. There are items that he only talked about once and never did any quiz or exercise about. Make sure you study and make sure you bring a dictionary at the final exam...the multi dictionary is the best.

His class is a lot of work but I enjoyed it. I was scared before I started because I heard he was a harsh grader, but he wasn't. I recommend taking his class.

I have taken his Grammar and Redaction courses, and I must say, both courses are a lot of work, but you do learn quite a bit. He's a great teacher, but rather tough on his marking, although for 1091 he lets you bring your papers to get corrected and get some of your grammar points back to get a better mark. Great learning, but don't expect an A.

He was a very hard prof, and he seemed to enjoy giving us bad marks. He was unclear about everything. I quit the class because I couldn't understand a thing he was trying to teach, PLUS he makes YOU feel stupid when HE'S the bad prof. Maybe, he should figure out that it's HIS JOB to teach it to US!!!! He was really really bad!!!!!!

He know his stuff but doesn't seem to know how to teach it in a simple way. He complicates it more than he needs to, he doesn't let you know what to expect on his tests or for the essays. If you can, try and fail your profile linguistique so as to be in Sylvie's class. She's a better teacher.

Terrible teacher. He takes pride in degrading his students and speaking to them like they are in junior high. If you can, avoid his classes at all costs.

Although it is true that he knows his stuff he always seems to find pleasure in humiliating his students. He is a tough grader who is not consistent. His correctors are poorly trained and have been known to grade 20% under what he would. Horrible!

Unfortunately he is the only teacher to teach this during fall/winter courses. Trust me, take it with Sylvie Dilk in spring. Way more worth it. He is very confusing. All over the place. Speaks way too fast. Boring, unapproachable. Makes you feel stupid.
