This class (Calc 2) is not easy at all, but emily makes everything look so simple. very good professor. having hw every day kept me up all the time, so i was never behind. at the beginning of every class students would write hw problems they had problems solving and she would go through them...very good professor!!!

I had a hard time though a A at last.she's nice but also has unnegligible shortness.She's sort of egocentric and likes to force u to do sth.If u don't then u may risk at losing her favor by lowering ur grade. I think she grades more based on impressions than on academic standing.apparently faster speed than other sessions and muchmore homeworks.

I took her combo and abstract. The best math prof I have had in my life! She's very helpful. If you go to her office hours, she explains things to you very carefully. For combo, she's absolutely amazing in lecture. For abstract, the material is hard. I think she has done a good job though! She and Tom, BEST PROFS!!!

Emily is amazing! Especially for CS majors taking combo. She is a computer scientist by training, so she makes sure to pull out the CS-relevant stuff in the class. She can be a little scatterbrained in lectures sometimes, but it's overshadowed by how amazing she really is at teaching. Breaks down concepts very well, even for non-math people like me

Decent teacher, nice to most students, but be careful if you plan to come late to class -- she really hates that. I never went in for help, but I think most students who do will find her earnest. However, she's sometimes not clear.

She is the best prof I have had so far at Grinnell- a good lecturer, always willing to answer questions, thorough about applications, and understanding. i loved linear with her. she was definately tough and doing homework everyday plus studing a lot for tests was vital, but it was worth it, as tests covered material she highlighted. fantastic!!

She is my advisor and I would say she is a better advisor than a teacher. I do like her class and she taught me so much. But i find her a even helpful advisor who can tell you from her experience what you do is the best for your career or education purposes. And yes, i LOVE Emily.
