Tests are based on HW, do it! Drops lowest test and quiz! Weekly quizzes. Zero attendance! Final was brutal though if you do not attend class during the last 2 weeks. It seems like all the material for the final was taught in class only during the last week before the final so definitely show up for those days at least. Nice guy, likes to ramble.

This class is so interesting, and it shed a new light on Calculus and the real number system. Howard's area of expertise is in Real Analysis. He gets excited when teaching about it. The textbook was fantastic. Exams are difficult, but he tells you what to expect on them. Make sure to prove the theorems he says to prove in the study guide.

great teacher. im seriously the worst at math and he was for the most part good at explaining. sometimes he would get lazy and not finish problems and i wouldn't know how to solve them but overall great teacher. i had a class of about 40 and i would say half the class never showed up so attendance not required!

You will fight for your life to get an C. He sucks. Take his class an expect to drop it by Midterms. He doesn't care for students and he doesn't do any examples. He makes the class hard for no reason.

Calc 3 is just a hard class. But the tests and even final are very similar from the homework. If you study and understand it well, you would probably be fine. I never remembered that our class had a test average of D. (mostly B). It actually helped that I went to his office hour to study for the tests and final.

He is by far the WORST math professor at Truman. He doesn't teach well and he goes insanely fast. He is so old that he has forgotten to tell us that we had a quiz. This happened 4 times. Then the test are insanely tough. Ever test had a class average of a D. Don't take him unless you want a D or you plan on dropping hallway through the semester

He sucks. he is the worst teacher at Truman. By far worse than an other Math professor I've taken here. He goes fast and doesn't slow down for questions. During office hours, he isn't much help either. He explains things thinking that you know everything that we've done this semester so far perfectly. He treats you like a child during office hours.

Dr. Howard definitely knows what he is talking about. He tries to explain all the material as best as he can. He also drops your 5 lowest homework grades, and if you do better on the final than one of your tests, your final grade can count as that lowest grade, saved my grade both times I took his class. Would gladly take again for another class.

Dr. Howard is hands down the best professor I've had so far in Truman. He willingly welcomes any question posed by students, often dismantling them with great insights and clarity. The guy does know prodigiously about what he teaches. But he makes it priority to get everyone understood first. Sporadicallly entertaining with his wry humor too !

Dr. Howard does a great job at explaining the concepts clearly and thoroughly. He's always willing to answer a question to the best of his ability and tries to make sure that his examples in class are relevant and applicable to both homework and studying for tests. The class is not easy, but is manageable as long as you do your work and study hard.

This professor is one of the clearest math professors I have had at Truman. He definitely makes you work for your grade, but the reward is definitely worth it. If you take your academics seriously and would like to learn a good deal about a course, I advise taking Dr. Howard.

Dr. Howard does the best that any teacher could do in teaching an enormous amount of material in a short amount of time. He is a little awkward at first, but once the class warms up to him, he loves to interact before class time. THIS COURSE IS VERY HARD AND VERY FAST PACED, but your grade will truly reflect your effort.

His class is not difficult, and he always explains every single point extremely in the class. It is also quite easy to take his tests cause they all based on his class notes and homework. However, he leaves homework almost everyday, and I often spend an whole hour to finish his work.

This class is extremely hard. The professor is pretty nice and he does lots of examples, but he moves very quickly and doesnt really give you time to work on the examples he just rushes through them. The tests are worth most of your grade and they have very few questions on them, so if you miss 2 or 3 questions you pretty much fail the test.

I had him for pre-calc and he is great. At first i was nervous and didn't like him but in the end he was very helpful and always explained every question in class. He makes math fun and interesting which is hard to do. Yes there is homework assignments but they are reasonable. The only downfall is that his tests only have about 15 questions.
