This class and professor are wonderful. Lots of reading required, and class discussion is key. Always very organised and enthusiastic, and willing to humour divergent opinions (even if they're laughable). His exams are tough, and he's a hard grader in general. This is one of the first times I've hard to work really hard for an A.

Not my favourite. There are a tons of readings and the explanations are not very clear. Also, he doesn't give study guides, so you're kinda all on your own. AND: his exams are all essay and he usually doesn't give out study questions either.

Prof. Kos required a TON of reading, but his lectures were extremely helpful. Go to class, takes notes, and participate in discussions. There's a lot of papers and the tests involve a lot of essay questions too. He is passionate about the texts. Watch for the voice change between lectures and reading aloud. I'd so buy books-on-tape of him.

He was a very good teacher if you went to class. Everything you needed to know for every test was either discussed in class or in the book we had. If you go to class then you don't even have to read the book cause he takes all of his test questions directly from the notes. He is very well organized and there to help i fyou need it :)

This class is pretty much based on lectures. There are quite a few papers to write, but they're only three pages each and I did fairly well on them. He gives you plenty of chances for extra credit and is willing to help if you ask. He's a very nice professor. I don't care much for political philosophy, but this is not a bad class.

Kos is a really great professor. He's witty and very knowledgable. American Government is easy to teach with bias, but he doesn't. He is extremely neutral when it comes to the description or criticism of the Government. He clarified so many things for me. I learned a lot. Great beginners class. Just go to lectures. Entertaining too.

Knows what he is talking about. Test questions come straight from the notes. Don't really need to pay tons of attention to him, just make sure to get the notes and have a general understanding of the concepts. Says "yah?" wayyyyy too many times.

Encourages free thought and discourse. Great at facilitating conversation while being incredibly inclusive to all members of the class. He has even attempted to start up extra discussion groups. He is one of the most positive professors I've known and it seems to be a joy for him to teach. I loved the days that we took class outside.

I took pol. thought twice with Kos and he was so helpful. He made the theories much easier to understand. He also encouraged class discussion on the topics which made it more interesting. Plus, he is truly the hottest professor in PLSC, he has a true "hot professor" look, inlcuding leather patch jackets. Watch for plaid pants & white sweater HOT!
