Professor Tsai's online class layout is very unorganized. Things are all over the place & are very unclear. He's not super responsive to emails but if you continue to email him he will eventually get back to you. He takes weeks and some times months to grade assignments. He offers a lot of extra credit opportunities so I would take him again.

this class is a required course to graduate and he is the only available prof. Online class gives you many different areas of assignments. you will be everywhere. there are so many detailed requirements that he asks you to fulfill. Syllabus is not even provided on blackboard. this class is so messy.

Language barrier sort of sucks. I took his class online but going for extra help didn't help too much. He really wants you to figure things out on your own, which is good in my opinion. The material was generally tough for me. Lots of projects.

The guy just doesn't get it, especially in the Online MBA 543 class. There is little to no guidance, and where there is, it is quite confusing and scattered. Had us do an outline before term paper, never returned it. So I have no idea if my set up is correct or not. Doesn't grade discussions, don't know if I am doing well or not. HORRIBLE PROFESSOR

Comment:

I regret taking this class online, especially in the summer. It's very heavy on the reading and even with the lecture notes provided by the professor it's extremely hard to grasp the concepts of each chapter. The HW on Aplia was actually the hardest part for me, even after reading the book/lecture notes. Tests/quizzes were more straight forward.

Prof. Tsai is a good professor, however he is not inspiring or enthusiastic. It's clear he knows his stuff but finds it hard to get it across to the students. It's like listening to an audiobook. His tests are extremely hard and even though he says he won't curve them, he's usually pretty generous and wants you to do well. Good guy overall.

Professor Tsai provides good online materials but all learning must be self achieved. Assignments and quizzes may be taken ahead of time which is important because too many things come due at the same time. Case discussions are thought provoking, but could be better if the expanded beyond everyone just doing the same thing over and over.

There didn't seem to be a correlation between the homework and the tests. He provided powerpoint slides that pretty much mirrored the book. He provided some excel spreadsheets with some of the equations but he could have provided more. I asked him a question on the homework and he refused to answer it!!

Very boring class Tsai is very dry and just lectures off the powerpoint slides. Tests were hard and he would never show up for review or the test, he would send the TA. Had a 89.77 final grade although I went to every class and he gave me B+. I emailed him to see if I could get an A- since I improved every test and he never even emailed me back.

Very challenging class, but organized the best ive seen for online. A lot of work, but definitely learned a lot. Syllabus was: (7)HW's 21%, (6)Quizzes 21%, Presentation of cases 5%, Discussions 6%, Final project 20%, Final exam 20%. He also provides an extra credit module, to raise all areas listed above.

I've taken an online course with Professor Tsai in the past, and I must say he does an excellent job with them. By far the most well-organized and easy to understand online courses in Oswego. Also very good at posting grades on ANGEL compared to other courses. This course just had some complex material not easy to understand in an online setting.

Professor Tsai has apparently taught this course online many times before. His syllabus is thorough and notes are easy to understand and supplemented with power points and Excel instructions. His expectations are clear. His grading policies are also conveyed to us well. His notes are so good that I never had to ask him a question.

Does little to no teaching in his online classes. Expects students to figure it out on there own but doesn't provide the resources to do so. Unhelpful and rude in answering questions. Material is painfully outdated and book is useless. Has his TAs who are also students taking the class do grading which is both unethical and illegal.

He is a terrible professor, does not teach class work at all, just expects students to figure it out. Extremely monotone and does not engage the class at all Definitely possible to get an A but you must work. Class involves a ton of outside work(20 page paper, group projects) I would strongly advise that you take it with someone else if possible.

I'm not sure what everyone is talking about when they say Tsai is a good professor. He speaks slowly and in an extremely boring monotone. If you have a laptop in front of you for class, you wont be able to pay attention. I can't even tell you if hes a good professor or not because i simply cannot listen to him.

Took this online and I definitely agree with the comment below that if you can take it in class, then do it. This class is tough and if you do not understand the material early, you will not pass. His tests are pretty tough, but his mini lectures help. Make sure you participate in discussions too. I missed out on an A because of that

Took this class online since I couldn't take it in spring and it's pretty straight-forward. However, if you have a chance to take it in class, do it. Professor Tsai is a good professor, but this class is tough especially at an online level and if you aren't able to keep up at a fast paced level you will fail. Ended up getting a B, so I'll take it
