This was a fairly easy class. Lectures can be dry sometimes and power points were the same ones used in PSY 101. Overall though, Professor Vaden is a very fun interesting man who will go out of his way to lend you a hand. Enjoyed having him as a professor, highly recommend.

Great professor, really knows his stuff and it's not difficult to get an A if you review the power points he post and do the extra credit he gives. His lectures are interesting but can be a bit long sometimes.

Vaden definitely knows Psychology (don't talk to him about Freud lol). He is sort of monotone/boring but his lectures were very straightforward. Reading isn't necessary if you take good notes, and all of his powerpoints are on Canvas. Grade is based on 4 MC tests only, with 5% extra credit available if you participate in his research studies.

Attendance isn't mandatory and the lectures are boring. Prof goes into too much detail for the smallest topics and barely covers a lot of material that is on the tests. 5% of extra credit is available. Tests are decently hard. I got Bs on all of them and a low A in the class. I wouldn't recommend this professor because I didn't learn much.

Mr. Vaden psych class was interesting and pretty fun. He is a fun guy who relays the information needed for tests well. The grade is based on four tests, no homework or quizzes. Take really good notes on the slides, his in class examples and show up to the test review and you will have no issues passing with a good grade. Gives extra credit.

Prof. Vaden is a funny professor but his lectures were very boring to me. Attendance isn't mandatory at all and he gives 5% of extra credit. The class is test heavy but if you review the presentations then you should be fine. Overall, a good professor but it is easy to get a low grade.

Dr. Vaden is an amazing professor. If you show up to class and take notes, you'll pass. If you participate in research he adds 5 points to your final score. No final, just 4 tests for a grade. Easy class. I'm definitely taking him again.

Professor Vaden is quite knowledgable and has a wealth of experience to share. I enjoyed his class even though it was only taken as a gen-ed course. Professor Vaden's wide range of industry knowledge is evident through his detailed lectures, and his subtle humor is fantastic. Taking PSY101 motivated me to take an aviation related psychology class.

Comment:
I didn't like Professor Vaden's teaching style because he uses powerpoints as talking points and doesn't really go into detail about the topics on the slides, therefore, if you don't write down what he says during lectures then it's hard to understand the material. Study the textbook, do well on the research project and pass the tests.

Lectures can be boring, but are easy to follow along with. Take plenty of notes. Exams are passable if you pay attention in class and study notes. He welcomes student interaction during class and can be very funny at times. Research project proposal is a gimme A. Also do the extra credit assignments worth up to 5 percentage points.

I personally have to read the textbooks for Vaden's classes. He will go into great detail on any subject if you just ask. Very helpful and once you learn his style of teaching the tests will become easy. With that being said, his classes aren't designed to be easy, but they can be. Just pay attention and read the textbook a lot.

Comment:
He's a down to earth guy. Sometimes drops a swear or two mid lecture to see if students are paying attention (because 1/4 of the class is usually asleep). Keeps the lecture subjects interesting but is EXTREMELY monotone which lulls you to sleep. Tests are specific to lecture material so take good notes.

Vaden is great but this class? Way over everyone's head. I'm getting the same information from HF 300 just way simplified. It's literally an hour and fifteen minutes of straight boredom. Vaden does his best but it's hard to make it interesting. A is achievable but you better work.

Cognitive psych is not an easy class.. Vaden will literally hit 5 slides per class because of how in-depth he goes in explaining concepts. If you pay attention you will learn a lot. Tests aren't easy by any means - you definitely have to know your stuff. But he will always help you out if you seek it. Easy guy to talk to and get along with.

A lot of the information on his slides are vagues which makes them hard to understand. When he talks about the slides in class, he's not straight to the point so you may get lost sometimes. His test review is not so organized. His tests are mostly based on the stories that he would ask you to read.

Professor seems to know a lot of human factors and is a fun and nice person overall. He gets off topic sometimes. His tests are terrible. He doesn't give out a clear review and test questions are mostly based on reading assignments.
