Comment:

My biggest problem with this class was that my writing did not improve at all (it was my first-year writing req class). We wrote one essay: a 5-page term paper. On the plus side, the work is ridiculously easy, and I did learn a lot about philosophy, if not anything about writing. She's very willing to help, but rambles incomprehensibly a LOT.

Comment:

Erika is a nice teacher, well versed in philosophy, and the content that she chose for class was excellent. However, she comments superflously and unfortunately makes the class more akin to a review of the readings rather than a discussion seminar. It is easy to get an A if you are smart, and the workload is very light.

Comment:

Erica Paslick is a very frustrating teacher. All we did in her class is summarize what we read and write reading checks on it. I felt like I was back in High School Freshman English. The discussions are horrible. She interrupts the students, and does not let anyone else talk except when she asks, "Don't you agree?" I did not like her at all.

Such a cute prof! Extremely opinionated but easy to talk to. She helps a great deal with writing, but it varies between content and writing style. Fairly easy to do well, especially if you take advantage of her office hours. She does like to talk, so if you're giving a presentation, be prepared to be interrupted often.

Erica is one of the best teachers I've had here so far. She is immensely kind and really cares about her students. She's also really funny and sweet. Her classes are interesting and not too hard - she explains things in English all the time. We did a lot of fun activities, like teaching each other or imitating famous paintings or acting out plays.

She is a very interesting person - with an amazing history and a good sense of humor, however, she is overly idealistic sometimes and holds a very strong stance is what she thinks. A bit frustrating at times. but it could definitely be a lot worse!

I definitely leanred a great deal from Erika. She's an excellent professor. You will not leave your class with her unenlightened unless you are an airhead. For our philosophy seminar she helped us introspectively examine our life an existence on earth and you will definitely improve you writing skills with her.

Dr. Paslick is an extremely kind person, offering to throw events for the class. However, she is also very opinionated, so be prepared if you aren't willing to adapt to her beliefs and styles. Her proofreading tendency is to rewrite things for you (though she does explain in the margins).
