I am obsessed with Erin McGraw. She is the nicest lady, but also the toughest teacher. She's never mean or condecending or rude, the class atmosphere is wonderful. I love her so much. One of the best professors I've ever had.

I'm writing this here because I had Erin at the University of Cincinnati over 15 years ago and have never forgotten her or her classes. She is exactly what a workshop leader should be--kind, but rigorous, understanding but not permissive, and incredibly generous. Now that I write and teach, I know even more what a blessing I had in that woman.

Erin is a GREAT professor! Anyone interested in osu's creative writing program should look for her class. She loves getting to know her students and creates a laid back atmosphere--very approachable, not stuck up like a lot of english profs. She'll give a lot of criticism, but it's always for the best.

Erin McGraw is the creative writing program's best-kept secret. She is the best reader and line editor in the program, and her attention to character and structure have changed the way I think about my own work. Her scholarly attention to craft is an example students would do well to emulate. The rigor of her courses helped me improve my stories.

Very understanding that you are involved in a life outside of class, unlike Robin Markels. In terms of course amount, lots of short readings. Found it helpful that she required revised products for discussion throughout the quarter as getting started seemed to be the main focus of my 265 and my other 565. Very gracious, and helpful Teacher.

One of the best teachers I have ever had: incredibly clear and helpful in teaching students the fundamentals of fiction writing. Not pompous or overly pedantic. Is genuinely interested in seeing everyone succeed. Makes coming to class a real pleasure.

Wrote my story off because she did not like the subject matter. Yeah, that was great criticism there. Easy class, but her criticism was never helpful, just her letting me know the kind of stories she likes to read. No criticism to help me become a better writer.

She went to clown school, that says it all. But seriously, she's helpful, doesn't play favorites, and can often see where you're going with a story and offer insightful tips on how to get there. Wants to see everyone published.
