I had him for Integrative Experience. He never explained anything and never could explain to me what the course was even about. He was totally unhelpful at all and was a complete waste of my time. Worst Experience during my entire time at UMass.

Such a knowledgable professor. Gives amazing feedback, is not strict with deadlines. Basically for every class you read short stories and talk about it. An essay every week, but he understands if you have a reason for not being able to do it. Fair grader and loves to talk with students about the paper. LOVE HIM! he is the nicest prof ever.

Wow! Is this professor the kindest, most helpful one I've had. He constantly but gently bashed my writing and reviewed his paper comments during officer hours. By the end of the semester, I knew how to write because his feedback was so useful. Class discussions are pretty good. Enroll. Now.

Overall, Gallo is one of the finest professors I've ever had at UMass. However, DO NOT expect anything close to a traditional class structure. He's all about thinking outside the box, and quite frankly, rejecting any semblance of rules. Which made for an awesome learning experience. Be open, cause he is, and you'll get a ton out of the class.

Prof Gallo was one of the best professors I ever had. A really nice guy and easy to talk to. He is very willing to go over essays and if you have issues meeting a deadline, just email him and kindly ask for an extension and he will help. The readings were simple and reflection papers short and simple with a lot of leniency. Class sometimes was dry.

The man is wonderful. Class sometimes gets dry and he has to ramble, but in genreal class is fun and informal. He is open to an interpretation as long as you have textual evidence. He encourages you to work with him on papers, which in the end getting you much better grades. If you are taking english 200 take it with Gallo.

This guy is a sweetheart! He is open to all interpretations of a work, and condones them. He gives a lot of helpful feedback and makes the class very comfortable for everyone. He understands if the class doesnt grasp something right away, so he moves on and comes back to it. High participation from just about everyone in the class.

Fantastic Professor. Even if he can be a bit vague, he understands what people say (or are trying to say), isn't conceited, and really does give helpful comments on papers. Really great teacher. I'd recommend him for anyone who actually likes literature, discussion, or just learning in general. Oh, and try to participate in class... :)
