She is one of the best professors that I have ever had at Fordham. Yes, there is a lot of homework... but most of the time even if it is wrong it is okay, so just try! Sampedro knows that learning languages is not easy, and uses a bunch of different mediums and formats to make sure that you understand.

Professor Lomas-Sampedro is one of the most caring, enthusiastic, intelligent professors I've come across at Fordham. She loves teaching, and truly wants you to understand Spanish. Learning a new language is not easy, but ALL of the work she assigns is excellent practice. I truly feel like a learned a ton. I wish I could keep taking her.

She's a decent professor but because she is head of the department, she is not laid back at all. Class rarely gets out on time, so if you have to have her class, avoid scheduling a class immediately after. She's sweet but I never felt super comfortable in her class. If you have to take her, you'll be fine. However, she should not be your first pick

Professor Lomas-Sapedro is so, so enthusiastic about Spanish. She definitely loves teaching the material, so she cares about you as a student and how much you're retaining. She really respects effort and there's hoemwork every night but it's completely manageable. Tests were never too bad and her grades were fair! Would definitely take again!

I personally didn't like her teaching style like if you asked her a question about tenses or conjugation she's just like "oh you need to learn house to conjugate" or "you need to expand your vocabulary" like how tf does that answer the question but it was fine. Easy to pass with at least a B

Esther is a really nice person and very approachable if you need help. She expects a lot if you want to get an A, but a B is not too difficult to attain. Just pay attention and do the homework the night before and you will make it.

Great professor! I came into her class barely knowing the basics & by the end, I was reading and understanding almost everything she said & gave us to read. You have to work really hard to do well, but she's very helpful outside of class & really wants her students to succeed. Tests & quizzes are pretty straight forward. A lot of work & reading!

She taught at Rose Hill this semester. She's very nice and approachable. Has that classic Spanish lisp, so it's hard to understand her at times. Sometimes she has trouble "getting" her students' English. Decent amount of homework, and grades on the easy side. Class is boring, but she does emphasize Spanish culture (+). Very sweet woman- pretty young. She truly cares about her students and wants everyone to do well and to love Spanish. She will help you whenever you need it. Assigns a lot of hw, but tests are relatively easy. If you really want to learn the language, take her! Her accent is a litle hard to understand at first, but you get used to it.

course work seemed a bit pointless at times but text book was valuable studying tool for tests. pretty easy to get an A, but that may be b/c i was already pretty good, slightly more advanced than the rest of my class b/c of good high school spanish teachers. many other students didn't understand her, but still not too tough of a grader.
