Eugen should be nominated for Sainthood. Never have I met such an incredible man. His accomplishments and life story are astounding. Most importantly though, he truly cares about every student and every moment of every class he teaches. Funny, witty, devestatingly brilliant. Take any course with him, you'll leave with a different view on life.

As a freshman, I took Kant with him and was intimidated because I was among mostly Juniors and Seniors. Eugen is witty, too intelligent for words, and wonderfully eccentric. He restores my faith in humanity and in myself. Eugen makes the most dense material suddenly easy to understand and enlightening. His knowledge is literally astounding.

Eugen is genuine, erudite and humble. I once asked him how many languages he knows: abashed, he answered I speak over 30 and read more, but some are dead. Mythic but human. Bronze Olympic biathlete, built his own house, was a monk, full ride to Yale because he had "too much potential" to be cloistered. I agree. I'm better for encountering him

Absoultutely love this guy. Best professor in the entire world and the sweetest person. Smartest man I think I'll ever know and any class, and when I say that I mean any class, he teaches take it because you will have the time of your life!

Wow, He is sooo eloquent, speaks like 10 different languages and apparently, his motivation is still going bein that he has a 2 yr old son. Mind you, he's like 70. Has the sweetest Swiss accent, definately take his class!!!
