Eugene made class very fun to go to. The material is fair, and his tests are very demanding (espeically since he does not let you use a formula sheet). Homework can also be a chore. Very funny and a great teacher. Put the effort into his class, and you will learn the subject matter.

Entertaining lecturer. Demands respect. On the easy side for a 400 level physics class. Instructive homeworks, though they are dumbed down for undergrads. Quirky man. Overall one of the best physics classes at UMass. My friends who've taken it would say the same.

If Professor Golowich had taught a class in the most unappealing topic in the universe, I would have taken it just because he taught it. I have taken three classes with him over the years. Now I have graduated and teaching as well, and am trying to copy his style. He is easily the best teacher I have had in my life.
