Comment:
Dr. Zheng clearly knows his stuff but lectures can be hard to follow from time to time, a great TA really matters for this class (I had Reeve Garrett he was awesome!). He does tell you exactly what will be on the exams but a small mistake can be costly since they are all multiple choice. I didn't find his conceptual way of teaching to be helpful

Dr Zheng can be hard to follow at times and doesn't cover all the topics in lecture and so you will need to be prepared to read the book. He seems to care about teaching and wants student to do well. HOWEVER, the exams are multiple choice exams ranging 8-12 questions per exam, so one small mistake and your losing 10% of your exam grade per question

Comment:
Zheng is an interesting professor. He has true passion for the course, but his methods for teaching and testing students are odd. His lectures are confusing and often leave you relying on the textbook. His midterms are the worst part of the class. They are multiple choice, ranging from 8-12 questions. This may sound easy, but it's very aggravating.

He is very hard to follow in lectures, so be prepared to read the textbook to get most of your information. He tells you what is on the exams; however, there is usually at least one question that will blow you out of the water. His exams are about 8-10 questions that are multiple choice, so you receive no partial credit. Easily my worst professor.

Fangyang is a super cool guy. You can tell he really cares about teaching. For this course, I had a rough time and I'm not sure if it was due to him or me. I would say for this course do not get behind or you will be in trouble. Office hours with him are helpful.

Professor Zheng is a very nice person to start off with. He welcomes all questions asked by students, and expend on actual math related topics in class. He understands and is genuinely interested in Math. His test might be a little unrelated with the hw. He expects you to read the textbook and ask questions instead of he repeating it in lecture.

He's easily the worst professor I've had since I got to OSU. His lectures are impossible to follow unless you are some sort of math genius. He expects you to understand concepts from 1172 like you learned them years ago and they are common knowledge. He doesn't know how to do his job basically. The homework is nearly impossible.

Very easy professor and cares about students. He knows we are engineers and does not try to destroy us with terrible proofs. His exams are very fair. His lectures a bit hard to follow but recitation will make up for it.

Fangyang is a boss. The dude has a PhD from Harvard. His lectures are dry and kind of pointless, but he tells you exactly what is on the exam and he is very willing to help you out if you need it.

Profesor Zheng is one of those inspiring teachers that wants his students to perform their best. He made me want to learn math. He is very helpful and encourages students to ask questions. He is also very fair, in that he will help students through harder homework problems during class. Also, class usually got out 10 minutes early :)

Dr. Zheng is an extremely helpful professor who is really interested in seeing students succeed. He does scare quite a few students to drop the class during the first lecture, but he really just wants smaller classes to maintain his excellent level of teaching students.

Best teacher I've had in the crummy math department. Totally fair grader, lays things out clearly before midterms and final so students know exactly what to expect. Laine Noble was also an EXCELLENT TA for this class.

Zheng was a great professor, the first 2 chapters made sense and were easy but the third chapter made no sense. The final is terribly hard But he curves so 33 percent get A- or higher.
