Comment:

Never had a professor so willing to help as this one. Always answered emails pretty quick, even on weekends. Had I devoted a bit more time to homework extra credit, I would have gotten an A, and God knows she gives plenty of opportunity to improve your grade. I think she's a great communicator and teacher.

This was a more difficult class. I took it online and was very disappointed with my test scores. I read the chapters, completed the homework assignments and still didn't do very well. Prof does respond to emails and is very helpful with questions. This was the hardest I worked to receive a lower passing grade.

Come to class, do your homework and study, you'll do fine, far harder teachers than her at SOM, FAR HARDER! This class is what it is, an intro course to operations management, and that's how she teaches it, good, not to mention she looks good too =-)

Here's a weekly scenario: You will go to all the classes and feel like you have an understanding for everything she is saying. When the test comes, you will think you are prepared and think that most if not all of your answers are correct. Then, you will get your scantron back with a big fat D on it. Took this class online. Wonderful professor! Very easy class. A lot of extra credit. Impossible to get anything below an A. You do need to read the book to know where to find answers during exams. I had all my homework done 2 months before the end of the semester. Recommended.

Comment:

Fataneh is hands down, the best professor in the SOM @ UM Flint. I would recommend anyone to take her section of Operations Management and would also recommend any OM major to take her section of BUS 373 (OM for Service.) She cares for her students and genuinely wants them to be successful academically and professionally. Take her class!

Followed the book almost like a script. Homework was usually problem solving, which she never demonstrated in class beforehand. Exams were very concept driven. Class avg was low, so either exams were off or her style of teaching did not click with class.
