Comment:
Lots of people are intimidated by Rhetoric, but it's not as bad as it seems. There are a lot of papers to write for the class and a debate about 3/4 of the way through the semester. However, Professor Prichard lets you turn in papers and then after she gives you feedback, you can resubmit the paper for a new grade.

Prichard is the only reason I did not die in Rhetoric. She goes over her grading rubrics and tells you exactly what she wants. She gives students the option to re-do assignments because "you're not stupid you've just never done this before."

Prichard is a gem of a human and really cares about her students-will definitely like you more if you make an effort to talk to her or come to her for help on things. She is very laidback and low stress compared to other rhetoric professors, but still very knowledgeable (if you need a prof to micromanage you & your writing then look elsewhere!)

I took rhetoric with her my first semester freshman year and here I am now as a Senior still stopping by her office to chat with her. She is very caring and likes to build relationships with her students to help them succeed in college. Her class will make you work hard. You learn to research effectively which is useful in most other courses

A little late grading things, but by far one of the best professors that VCU has to offer. She cares a lot about her students and is very understanding to all circumstances. She gives more constructive criticism than bad grades, and gives you an opportunity to fix your mistakes before a final grade. Definitely recommend.

this is an easy class, and interesting, and very doable. However, the only thing which I did not like, is that the professor already has her opinions formed about everything and if your opinion contradicts hers, even if you provide evidence, she will deny it and urge you to see things her way.

Rhetoric is a lot of work. Professor Prichard helps you get through it and improve your writing and speaking along the way! Be prepared to spend a lot of time with this class. If you put in the work you'll get the grade you want, she sees who works hard. The only thing is sometimes she doesn't explain exactly what she wants for the assignments.

Took Professor Prichard for HON 200. She is very fair and assigns a reasonable amount of work for Honors Rhetoric. You will work hard, but you will hopefully put out a pretty good research paper, and maybe get picked for a conference!

The class is designed to be hard and you have to put in the time and effort, but if you are consistent in your work the class becomes very easy. Prichard is a great teacher and will work with you throughout the entire course to make it easier for you. If you need extra time for an assignment just make sure you contact her. Try not to put off work.

I took Faye's course over a Winter Intersession last year & would do anything to have her again. The course was condensed so the work load was a lot heavier, but Faye made it easier for students to learn. I always looked forward to class because of her. Best professor I've ever had in my college career and, arguably, the best at VCU. Take her!

This class is actually very difficult since almost the whole grade is the final paper. You spend the whole semester researching and writing your final paper, but it is divided into steps so it is easy to follow. Professor Prichard is helpful at times but if you follow the instructions you will be fine. Don't slack off at all!

Prichard is adorable. She is very lenient on deadlines which sounds nice but most people end up falling far behind. That isn't great when everything piles up around finals. Still, I really enjoy talking to her.

Professor Prichard is amazing! She is extremely helpful, and she is always pushing you to reach your goal. Please be nice if you take her class; her deadlines are extremely flexible , and most people take advantage of this rather than use it to foster creativity and polish writing. Turn in everything on time to make her life and your life easier.

She can be a little bit disorganized, but her deadlines are VERY flexible. Do all the work and you should be fine. A little hard to get in contact with through e-mail, but she has office hours. Class is usually pretty fun. She's super interesting and funny.

She was a blast! Her assignments take time, about 3-4 hours a week. But they are all helpful when it comes to writing the final 15 page paper! If you do all the work (it seems like busy work but it's not!) then it should only take you a day or two to (EASILY) produce an A paper. She is lenient on deadlines, which is helpful!

A good professor. Sometimes a bit unclear. Class is somewhat challenging, but that is never a bad thing. Based on what I have heard from friends, she is probably the best instructor for Honors Rhetoric 200.
