I have taken multiple classes with Rock and I must say that he is one of the best instructors that I have ever had. Granted he is a little nutty, but he gives you everything you need to know. As long as you study, you will pass his classes

Rock loves what he does, no question. But he has a couple bad habits that took away from an otherwise great experience in Geology. He tends to stand in front of the chaulk board and won't move, hiding his famous diagrams. The lab component of the course was a joke. It was more of a time for him to joke with the athletes and stoners.

Nice guy, but his famous diagrams are ridiculous. There's never any homework in this class. Just practice the diagrams and study those rocks. He's a pretty easy grader, but if you don't work, you will do poorly.

Funny guy! more than a little insane. 9am class is a killer, but Rock's stories will maybe keep you awake! definately get to know all the diagrams and copy anything he writes on the board to your notes!! practice repeatedly and you may surive the class.. and dont miss classes! well recommended.

Dr. Haines was unclear in the information and lectures he gave. Also unhelpfull when I specificaly asked him for clarification. Purposefully disrespected me as a person, and insulted my intelligence regularly to try and get my goat. I was very dissapointed with his behavior.

Rock is insane. I think he's going senile! I liked his class and he was quite an interesting prof. I didn't like his racism-ness so much though. he said a few things that i didn't agree with..but oh well. a lot of things he taught i didn't think had anything to do with geography. but he's great

I took his class about 12 years ago and left with no respect for him as an instructor. He once caught a student cheating on the exam (dead to rights with witnesses) and the student received a B in the class. That was wrong.
