STUDY! You will learn alot in her class. Pay attention, because she randomly calls on people to participate. I had her for 101 also, and both classes were easy for me. A good tip to survive her test is to always do the practice test after the chapter, Quia, & study your vocabularies! You CAN make A's in her class if you actually put in effort!

Ok so I took this prof and got a B, but that is only because i studided and had good spanish teachers in high school. If you have never taken spanish before and the only word u can say is si, i would not recommend this class.She is very rude ans is not helpful at all. On the third day of class she made a girl cry. I reccommend taking Silva.

WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR IF YOU CAN HELP IT!!! She goes through the material extremely fast AND does not speak english well so is hard to understand. I took SPAN 101 with another prof and got a B, but with her I'll be lucky if I get a D. Unless you are already good in spanish I would not reccommend!

I really wouldn't recommend this teacher at all... she never tried to help me... she would call on me and if I didn't understand or got it wrong she would just go on to the next person and not even try to talk me thru and help! HORRIBLE!

Really not a bad teacher. The class is easy, and if she knows you care, she'll help you. She sincerely wants her students to do well. If you put effort into the class, she will notice. Test are straightforward, and if you have an A, no final. I'd take her again.

At the beginning she is hard to understand, but once you get use to her it's not too bad. She usually doesn't understand questions, and would often times confuse us even more. The class itself is easy, and the test are straightforward. I wouldn't recommend Mrs. Alonso to someone who is new spanish. If you took it in high school, you should be okay.

Really a terrible teacher, and this is coming from someone that's interested in the material. You must pay close attention if you want to do well. She only says things once, and she's often hard to understand. She's very picky about little things, and I often felt like I was in 3rd grade. Quizzes are given almost everyday. 93 OR HIGHER = NO FINAL!

So sweet. Tries to be helpful. Her class was fun. It was basically watching a movie, reading a story, comparing and contrasting, then taking a test spitting back everything from the class period before. But she is EXTREMELY difficult to understand and her tests are hard. If you're having trouble, TALK TO HER. She will help.

this lady is INCREDIBLY nice...INCREDIBLY. she wants nothing more than her students to do well. it's very difficult to understand her at first but you get used to it. there were more than a few times when class was over but i still needed to finish my test, so she let me finish in her office. her little jokes are hilarious :)

I love her! She is cool. I would only recommend that those with prior knowledge of Spanish take her. I think that those that don't like her, just don't want to learn Spanish.Also she speaks English better than alot of people in this area. So get over it Spanish is the new language of the world. After taking this class, I realize that the comments here that paint her as a monster are written by the same students who give a snotty "I don't know" when she asks them questions. She's challenging, but IF YOU STUDY, you will learn. Tells funny stories and WANTS you to learn. WILL spend hours helping you after class. I'm taking her for 102.
