I like De Flaviis, but he's kind of one of those profs that just get drowned out. Not great, not bad, truly a slightly above average dude and there's not much more I could ask for.

Not very clear on what will be covered on the exams. No notes really posted online so be sure to go to lecture. Exams carry most of the weight of the course grade, but I believe he curves them.

There are some moments when he makes complete sense and it's very interesting, and there are moments when everyone is completely lost. Overall, not terrible, but not great. The exams are worth most of the grade, but he allows for cheat sheets and graphing calculators. He is very nonchalant about it though.

*Basically* (his signature phrase), he's ok. Modest English, but good teaching overall; explains things in detail, especially fundamentals, but often skips over (possibly) crucial details or skips going through the hard math for time's sake. Exams don't necessarily reflect homework or book problems and are often harder than the latter.

One of the worst professors I have ever taken. He is corrected by students all the time even if he is copying it all from a piece of paper. He doesn't do a very good job teaching the material either. I gave him a 2 because he doesn't require you to buy the new $200 textbook to do hw and you can just use an old one for the reading that you will need

Don't choose his course, he is not responsible at all, no office hours, and he did not care about students. Just count how many times he says "basically"

Definitely not a good lecturer. He only seems interested in showing students how to derive equations in class and doesn't show how to walk through the circuit problems.

Quiz every week, some really tough. Expect tough HW, but most of them are from the text. I usually need to go through all the practice problems in the book before quizzes, exams. Class is hard, but he tries to do his best. Love that he favors board and chalk over slides. In the end, he offers a 5% extra credit for course evaluation.

Flaviis does not lecture well. His lectures are unorganized and he flies quickly from one topic to another. If you didn't read the textbook before class you will probably not have fun in lecture. Tests are incredibly hard (average is around 40%, most of the class failed so he curved). He is not readily available and you pretty much teach yourself.

He'll give a lot of eqns in lecture, but don't copy them all down, because they're all in the book. The textbook is easy to understand, so just read the chapters he'll cover before going to class, or you will be doomed! Midterm was ok, but his final was HARD. Final project was tedious, but doable IF you didn't wait until the last minute!

Objectively, this professor is irresponsible and his tests are largely calculation based. I should have gotten 97 (100) in the first test, but I only got 92. I found the professor three times to ask him change my score, but he has no action at all. If you have a calculation error in the test, guarantee you lost most of the points.

De Flaviis is a good professor, but he speaks really fast. He assigned challenging HW problems/quizzes that tested conceptual understanding. At the end, he didn't curve grades (got an A- with a 90%), because most people did relatively well on his tests. Overall, I'd recommend him, but one screw up could ruin your chances of an A.

De Flaviis was a pretty good prof, he'd explain things thoroughly but sometimes would be confusing. His accent is hard to get used to but once you understand it it's not too bad. His tests (I thought) were easier than the hw. He's pretty entertaining, too. Talked about how you could get electrocuted by a hairdryer once.

I think professor Deflavis tries, but his lectures aren't very organized and he flies through material. The book for the class is REALLY, REALLY helpful, so make sure you buy it! The book was the only reason I passed the class. Exams are relatively straight forward. A little more difficult than homeworks, but what do you expect?

The Professor is not the best but the TAs are very helpful and students should attend all lectures and discussions to do well in class. The tests this year were easier than the problems he did last year, just look on last year's website to see. He had confusing instructions on the tests though. Circuits requires doing a lot of problems.

Hard class and difficult to grasp concepts. Having him as a professor sure didn't help at all either. TAs were somewhat helpful but in the end, it did not prove enough for me to pass the class.

I had better professors at community college. Exams are nothing like the HW or practice problems or lectures. If you ask a question to the TA's they will tell you to ask the professor but if you ask the professor he will tell you to ask the TA's. Quiz and exam questions are ambiguous but worse is the professor doesn't bother to correct them.
