He is very clear about what will be on exams and gives you everything you need to get an A even if you don't read the books (but reading is encouraged). The final grade is based on 2 exams and a participation grade (attendance). He is very nice and his interest in the mythological stories rubs off on you!

4 midterms all semester with study guides that tell you exactly what is on there (options for term ID, passage ID, and essay). All lecture powerpoints are posted on line, along with analysis of the readings. No need to attend class or read. Overall, easy A for a GE

Two exams (Vocab, passages, short essay) and a longer paper. He tells you a lot of what will be on the exam so you know what to focus on. I only read sparknotes and then studied from my class notes. Note taking was frustrating for me because he tended to jump around from topic to topic and my notes were unorganized. He was a very generous grader.

Easy A. Go to class, write down everything he mentions (and he will also tell you what is important/what he wants you to know VERY VERY explicitly). Reading assignments are brief but interesting (~30 pages every other day). Tests are straightforward if a bit long-winded but I do recommend this class if one is looking for a GEC.
