he graded 30% of our grade entirely off of 3 pop quizzes on material he taught a while ago without warning. On one the whole class scored below a 5/10 and he just said we were bad students. Extremely disrespectful, harsh and condescending. Very insensitive too: kept talking directly to all girls in the class about their periods and ethnicities.

Worst professor I've ever had. He is condescending, doesn't care about his students to any degree, disrespectful, grades out of spite (friend in class had a family emergency and missed class and got a severe talking to in front of the whole class and lost credit). I took this class over the summer and he never wore shoes or socks. He's horrible.

tough is a soft word to describe his way of grading. 96+ A, 91+ A-, but these don't matter because there's no way for u to get in the A zone. Trust me, do not take his RN103. work haaaaaaard everyday and u may get a B+ (88-90) if u r lucky.

Worst Prof I've had. Does not care about teaching/students, condescending, no one learned anything. Grade almost entirely based on IN CLASS midterm and final essays w/ no feedback, lectures are confusing/boring/little to do with actual reading. Relied on grad student presentations to teach us about readings. Truly regret taking it

He's a solid professor, very reasonable for the most part. If you show up to class and read the books you should at least get a decent grade.

Terrible professor who does not care about his students and is not at all understanding. He follows a strict rulebook and does not co-operate or work with his students. He does not encourage learning and teaches for the heck of it, does not encourage students who are interested and want to learn, in fact often demotivates them. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!

Comment:
Attendance is taken in class and discussion and it is mandatory. Lectures are long and boring as he tends to ramble. Tests are hard and he asks a lot of questions that were not covered in class or on review sheets. You will just learn vocab and not a lot about cultures/religions.

Lecture and discussion were mandatory, which is annoying but his quizzes are based on information discussed in both. He posts glossaries and helpful worksheets online that make up a majority of the quizzes. As long as you study, there is no reason you won't end with an A. If you're looking for an easy A, this is the class.

Most boring class ever. If you dont like religion then you will hate this class. Get ready to read too much stuff that you wont need in your life if youre not a religion major/minor. Too many tests. He is boring, aggressive at times, and has very unorganized lectures. Your notes will literally be useless cause of how unorganized the lectures are.

Professor Korom is an extremely intelligent and cultured man, and if you have prior anthropology andor religious knowledge before taking this class, then you will be set. Be prepared to read more than you would in most other classes--especially second half of the semester. If you show up to class and do all the reading, you will be fine.

4 tests, a Final, and a short Paper. It's a ridiculously easy class if you have any skills at short-term memory dump. He, however, manages to make a very interesting topic extremely dull. Manage to stay awake and you will get an A-/A without much trouble.

Easy class if you can memorize vocab. just the vocab will give you an A-. A little interest will get you a A. TF's are great and helpful.

really detail-based, but not a bad class. i was really interested in the topic, but he tends to put misleading T/F questions or things we didn't learn in lecture or in the book on tests... it was overall a SUPER easy class though, although it's graded strangely - you need a 96 to get an A, and a 90 is an A-.

His lectures are incredibly hard to follow - he doesnt seem to have any structure to what he says. Without the book and the awesome TFs I would be completely lost. That said, he really does know his stuff. A good class if you are willing to put in the time to figure stuff out yourself.

I love this class! I am an engineering major and this is the only class I have enjoyed at all in the last 3 semesters. He is amazing! Hilarious. Tests are straight forward. Not aimed to fail. He and his TA's will help you as much as they can. Extremely willing. Best class ever.

Korom is great! He's a great lecturer, funny, loud, and encourages class participation in a lecture of 200. The TA's are so helpful and know their stuff. Tests are easy if you go to class. He isn't the clearest lecturer but the TAs really help to clarify. Class is really interesting! Take it!

Comment:
TOO MUCH READING!!! Not only is there too much, but it's much too hard, even for a 300 level course. If you daydream for even a minute in class you will not understand the rest of it, very hard to keep track-doesn't explain in simple terms. BUT, he is a nice and personable person, and once you overcome its toughness, it is a very interesting topic
