Comment:

He's a very polite and funny man, but I expected more expertise on the subject from a college professor. I found his approach to teaching the subject was really hard to follow. I could learn more easily by myself than trying to keep up with his copy and pasting of code from the text, for this reason I would often skip class.

He rarely answers questions. Tells you to read the notes "carefully" when you ask him a question. For computer courses you really don't have a choice on avoiding him. Exams were relatively easy and self explanatory. Nice guy though!

He does an awful job at teaching IOS programming. His demos often don't work, and he comes up with programming solutions that are ridiculous and I would be ashamed to show to a potential employer. Don't let him know that you are disappointed in his teaching style or you will see a different side of him. Worst CPS teacher I've ever had.

He comes across very friendly and professional and says he easy to approach for help, but I found that he doesn't make time to actually help students. He doesn't really explain things very well, and doesn't respond well to criticism

I wish NIC could find someone to teach their programming classes because Frank obviously doesn't have any interest in it. His lack of understanding translates to obfuscating the material. He tries to demo code but rarely can get it even to compile, after class he will redeem himself by sending you a stack overflow link. Extremely disappointing!

He can't teach without powerpoint, his idea of keeping the class engaged is having students type what he is copying from the text. He won't talk about things not on his slides. When he encounters a programming problem he runs to the textbook code and copy/paste instead of actually debugging. Doesn't use lab time, I get nothing out of his classes.

assignment due every week, assignment due day of midterm. frank moves through material rapidly in class and explains that he will not slow down despite actually being asked by 5 or more students to slow down. yes he does have a very thick asian accent that is often hard to understand. i underestimated his bus 170 class, it is quite heavy.
