Great class. Very old fashioned teaching style, but as long as you take notes and read the books it's a good class. Great opportunity to learn a lot, never thought I'd be so into the history of the criminal justice system.

Possibly one of the best criminal justice professors I have ever had. I would recommend him to anyone I came across. Be sure to study for the tests- the questions are very specific.

Worst class i have taken at ISU. The tests are only hard because they are unrelated to the lecture. The lectures are a random assortment of things he finds interesting instead of following a theme.

Straight jag. Broad notes in class. doesn't use blackboard, hard tests, gives his opinion and never asks for student input. Gives plenty of extra credit but it barely helps the poor test scores most students receive. Has a decent sense of humor. Rarely used book. 2 days before test, he couldnt remember the "chapters" his test was on.

Morn Is a great professor who has a ton of life experience in his field. The tests are fairly hard and you need to spend a good amount of time studying for them. The class is very interesting and he is pretty funny too. I would recommend taking this class and instructor.

He is a good teacher who uses humor and offhand comments to keep the lectures upbeat. He focuses on history which fit my interests. For CJS 240 tests were 60% MC 40% essay. Essential you come to class because once he assigns a paper he wont mention it again till its due. If you come to class, write the papers, and read the books you should be fine.

He's so ambiguous and weird. He wrote his own textbook so he can teach you his perception of things. His lectures are unclear, his exams are not pertinent, and he's got bogus questions designed to make you buy into his ridiculous theories. I wish I'd have taken the course with another professor instead.

He is extremely boring and there is a ton of reading. 40% of tests are multiple choice and 30% for each essay question. All the MC test questions are online which is nice but it does not make up for sitting through this class three hours a week. If you like history then maybe it won't be so bad but if you don't it will be a long semester like mine

This man was crazy. His tests were confusing, supposedly based off the notes but I showed up for every class and didn't know what he was talking about. I didn't read the books for the class just used the internet, and ended up with a B.

I thought investigations would be interesting and for the first half it truly was. He seemed like a funny and nice man I liked the info but he always promised us extra credit and would NEVER hand it out! I hated the fact that he thought he knew everything when he did not. If you don't have to take this class DONT.

he is the worst teacher i have ever had. basically talks out of his A** and only gives his opinions. his tests are so freakin hard and half of it doesnt even cover what we learned in class. he only bases your grades on test. i would advise you NOT to take class with him.

This man is a brilliant, topical, and funny guy. You will enjoy what he has to say in class. However, in terms of good educational experiences, this will not be one. He offers very little tutelage on what to expect from his tests. Stuff that is essential for tests is not covered at all in class and you are expected to do it all yourself.

A hilarious guy, he's a college student in an old man's body. His tests are pretty hard and you HAVE to read 2 books, but he's really good at explaining the outlines and everything on the test is always something he has mentioned.
