Extraordinary professor! Very nice and considerate. I've never learned so much in a class before I took this man. His lectures are enchanting and fantastic to listen to. Attendance is important, and being the great teacher that he is, rewards you for coming to class at the end of the semester. A++++

This guy knows his history. Teaches in "story-telling" fashion, makes things interesting. If you don't enjoy history he could seem boring. Overall, helpful and very clear. Take notes and Read = A

i enjoyed this class very much. if you do not want to come to class do not take this class because the tests come directly from the notes. tests are not hard if you do the readings and take enough notes in class otherwise you will be racing at end of semester.

I find him kinda boring..I space out really easy in his class but he's a nice man and offers help if you need it...take A LOT of notes on everything he says because thats where the test questions come from...as long as you have something in your notes about the stuff on the study guides you'll be ok

Usually, I hate history, but Riddel makes it very interesting. He gives you a study guide for the test, and the test is directly from the study guide. I would definately take him again.

I second the last person. His lecturing is like listening to a great story. I ususally hate history class but I loved this one! He is sort of tough but it can be done with some effort. Key is attending class and listening closely to lectures.

I hate history, but Dr. Riddel's class is really not that bad. He gives you study guides for exams and tells you from the beginning exactly what he expects of you. He's a good teacher and tests aren't that difficult if you read the book. Good class. :)

THIS GUY IS INSANE!! Classes so hard. Studied my butt off and got an F(3.5 student)His test questions are ridiculous. He wants to see how many ridiculous details you can remember for him. If you like jumping through hoops for a teacher then he's your guy

Seems like an intereesting instructor, although he tells the big men in history approach. He tends to deemphasize class conflict in historical analysis. Fair grading but needs to have more oppurtunity for points than just 3 test.

I took him for WV history. Very good. Explains topics well. Take notes. He fully prepares you for test. We did a unit on WV which helped me when it came to student teaching. If you have a hard time with history, Riddel is a great teacher to take.
