Doctor Vahid was understanding and nice. He cared about students. At first I didn't know this was an online class and I was wary. But now I think online was even better than in person. I absolutely loved this class.

A great teacher. His lectures were very clear and informative. His expectations for his students are high but reasonable for the course. Project oriented. If you pay attention and work hard, you will leave the course feeling that you have gained serious insight into the subject. Can't recommend this course, with this professor, enough.

In class, he just gives a lectures on finding a job/interviewing or other inspirational stuff like starting a startup/getting a patent etc. The actual lecture is useless for the class as it's just there to help you once you've graduated. The lab part where you do your project is also pretty easy. You don't have to do any hard projects. Easy A!!!

Comment:

Took 10V online. Do the readings, pay attention online, and start programs early, and you'll pass. Try to take shortcuts and you'll just spend more time. Vahid was chill. He mostly does examples which is cool cause it shows how to make a program. I tried his way of writing a little and compiling and it helped. TA was pretty cool too.

I took his class online. He did a lot of programming examples and I thought that was helpful. Especially when he explained mistakes. Programming is hard. Plan to spend a lot of time and start early so when you go to online lab you can ask questions. Vahid had online office hours and was helpful though usually it was only me and like 1 or 2 others.

Do not take this class online. He is a horrible teacher and rarely helps students out, on top of that the class is very time consuming. I literally spent more time on this class than my other three classes and still wound up with a D.

You'd be better taking this class in person especially if you struggle with programming and/or it is not your major. I spent more time on this class than any of my other 3. There was not enough help available and that is why I have to rate it poorly. He's a nice guy, but he's not available for help. The TA wasn't much help either.

Very clear, knows his stuff. Friendly, has interesting stories, funny too. Programming was harder for me than others but he was always saying no problem, that's normal. That really helped.

State machines rule! I love how he tied the technical stuff with real world stuff. He has a really comfortable way of teaching that kept me interested the whole time. I actually LIKED coming to class. Weird, huh. The class is lots of work, but I know I learned a lot of useful things. Go to class, do all the labs and homework, you should do fine.

Take Vahid if you don't want to learn anything. Hi doesn't teach a single thing when he teaches CS61. When I got an A all of my friends said I hadn't learned any of the important stuff. Also the 120 series are classes that could be fit into 1 class and those were made by vahid. He makes you buy 2 of his books and they're slower than CS61.

He makes class very interesting. He's a well balanced guy, and he's fair. He explains things clearly. He speaks English fluently, and knows how to TEACH. (This is unique since we know that professors don't need teaching credentials).
