He's nice and means well and he is very knowledgeable and passionate on the subject but his teaching methods are just very poor. No organization, writes a few terms on the boards and basically rambles an entire class on them. Loses most of the class in the first 10 minutes. Not hard(not super easy though) but I really learned nothing in this class

Absolutely brilliant. He has spent his life working with his material and it shows. I was a bit intimidated at first but his keen insights make me excited for every class. It's a shame that he's retired.

THIS GUY IS AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE!!!! He completely lacks clarity. His handwriting is impossible to read. He acts like he resents his students. Won't provide any guidance when students ask for help. I realized midsemester that I would learn nothing from this man and withdrew from the class.

Clothey seems like a nice guy, but he doesn't know half of our classes names. He called me our friend in the back the other day. His class sounds facinating, but he is really dry, and I feel dumber taking it.I really don't reccomend him or this class.
