I took 4 of his classes, one summer class the other 3 through continuing education so they were all long sessions but interesteing. he does a great job of bringing in guest speakers and letting you have new experiences as well as traditional lecture.

Comment:
Sociology of the Unknown was a lame class, unless you like that nonsense. The prof. was terrible. Very unfair grading in easy subject matter, grades ranged from 58 to 98 on the midterms. What? The quiz questions were very random. Dont take this class or prof

Awful! His "teaching" is more like a 3 hr. ramble. He denied us breaks. He doesn't even try to sound sane. Only a loony would enjoy some of his theories. If you're into conspiracy theories, you might like him, but even a conspiracy theorist would find some of the things he presents as concrete fact farfetched.

I could not agree more with the comment about Soc. of the Unknown. Fengler is completely self-involved and has no desire to hear what any of his students have to say. He gives quizzes that are too specific and grades unfairly. Avoid any of his classes; they look interesting, but he manages to make even the most interesting topics intolerable.

A very good teacher who is open to discussion and helps those who seek it. Not an easy class so be prepared to do your homework. I found his teaching very valuable.

Soc. of the Unknown? The only "unknown" thing is how this guy ever got tenure. Arrogant, ignorant, and incompetent. Talks in circles (repetitive), unwilling to listen, seems to take pleasure in denying students' suggestions. Avoid at all costs!
