Extra credit comes from clicker questions in class. All tests were open note, so take good notes and always go the day before the exam for the additional help sheets. He did a good job of explaining things, but you have to understand what you are doing on each problem in order to pass the tests even though they are open note.

Not the best professor, as he isn't always clear in the way he explains the material. A portion of the class is online questions which can be difficult but if you have a chegg account it helps! Exams are multiple choice and the wrong answers are just random numbers so you know if you did the problem wrong. Not an easy A but def possible.

I took it online. Easy lecture examples. Honestly his lecture videos aren't that great. Easy homework. Ridiculous exams. Super wordy. Nothing like the examples. You get to do an online "make up" exam after to remediate your grade but still, this is not an easy A. Multiple choice quiz questions every week for extra credit which is nice.

Horrible class that should've been easy. He makes you feel as though you understand concepts entirely, until you get to the exams. That's when he pulls out "challenging" (aka terribly worded questions) to throw you off. Also stated that he doesn't try to "trick you" on exams, but goes out of his way to do so. DO NOT RECOMMEND. (Especially online)

Easy examples, even easier homework problems. Then goes nuts on the exams with a bunch of poorly worded questions. The only reason people don't do well is because he makes trick questions and uses poor wording. Then on top of that, he has to spend the first 20 minutes of each exam explaining all of the mistakes he made, making a 12 question exam.

HORRIBLE! Do not take this class. His lectures do not help. Everyone in the class struggles. The exams are brutal. Went to office hours and he shrugged his shoulders and said "just watch my videos..".

Do not take the online version of this class. He comes off very cocky and rude via email. He decides how many times he would like to respond, sometimes without even answering your question. Also, be careful about exams. Don't try to match your answer with one of the multiple choice options by the exact cent. I did that and bombed my first exam.

All the class material can be found online, but you get extra credit for showing up. An easy A for sure. The exams are all open book open note so having the book is a bonus.

Yawn. Either skipped or didn't pay attention, still got the grade. Take the online section during the summer, you won't miss anything, it was simple stuff.

Doesn't make you buy a textbook, work in groups, so your grade is pretty dependent on your group. But overall a great professor!

Fred is an excellent prof, one of the best at MSU. His class is not difficult if you study the material, and you can actually learn useful stuff. Funny another review mentioned he showed up **** to a review session in 2003, as he seemed wasted at a review session when I took his class in 1995.

Fred is a nice guy with a good personality. The class is not difficult, and you actually learn in it (a rarity). He showed up looking pretty **** at a review session one time... it was pretty funny. I had a hot TA for my section, that was a bonus too.
