Please, don't take this professor. Just don't do it. I study for hours, read the textbook, go to class, do everything I can possibly do, and still fail his impossible quizzes. His notes are ridiculous and he is insanely boring. I've never done this bad in a class in my life. I don't know what else to do to raise my grade!!!

The lectures are word for word from the book, its pointless to go to class unless theres a quiz. Just read the chapters, and make sure you do the quizzes at the end of each chapter, normally thats what makes up the test besides the random questions he throws at us that we haven't learned. And he's just a very boring person to listen to!

I do not recommend taking him as a professor! None of the notes he gives you are on the test. Half of the test questions aren't even in the book! His lectures are so boring and he repeats the same stories over and over. DON"T DO IT!

Literally the way to study for him in Mammalian Physiology: Don't go to class, get a good TA (Rob Dove), memorize word for word his study guide powerpoint for the exams, and study quizzes given in lab because they are the same ones during the exams. I guess I'd recommend reading the book, but if you get a good TA it's really not worth the time.

Easy if you go to class. Notes in class arent on the test, but just study the summarys at the end of the chapters and the self-quizzes hardcore and youll ace the test. Lab is easy and it's 40% of the grade. In class he gives you tips about the test or papers. His random jokes are amusing, too. It's lame, but easy, and I hate bio. GO TO CLASS!

The notes you take are over stuff that isn't on the test. Do well in lab and you'll be OK, but the lecture is horrible. He is intimidating, but is actually a pretty nice guy outside of class. I wouldn't take him again, though.

Avoid at all costs. You take notes the entire time, but there is no point to studying them, because they aren't on the tests. To do well you have to read the entire book and basically memorize it. Your only hope for doing well is lab. Without lab I wouldn't have passed the class.

Notes are pointless just read and memorize the entire book. It's difficult to understand mccork, you'll go to class to write your hand off for the entire time, and he gives suprize quizes that everyone gets about 1/5 on average and then he doubles the score. If you're already in this class,lab is your only hope. Try to get steve for lab, he's hot.

YES, in agreement, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! I can give every single one of my teachers a good score, except this one. I studied in here just as much as other, and still got a "D" while i got all As and Bs in all my other classes. NOTHING he taught was on the tests/quizzes.

The lecture portion was hard, the exams were some of the hardest I've ever taken. BUT the lab was soo easy. I had a D going in lecture, and still managed to have an A in the class at the end of the semester because of Lab. Nice guy, at first was a little scary. Not a bad teacher to take.

I'm afraid that I cannot say anything good about Dr. McCorkle as far as BIO 101N goes. I'm afraid he's dealt too long with more advanced biology, because he gives no real indication of what is going to be on the exams, and the questions often have nothing to do with the lecture. AVOID IF POSSIBLE!
