Great professor who really cares about his students and is available for office hours. Difficult class in general, but professor Derrick is willing to help. Short quizzes every Friday, homework is not mandatory but helpful for the quizzes. You get to create an index card for all 3 exams.

Class was a major time commitment. He routinely had a quiz and homework due every week. Everyone seems to bomb the quizzes towards the end of the semester due to harder material, but all 3 exams seemed to be stapled quizzes that were almost identical to the ones taken the preceding few weeks. Difficult; had a 94% test average, but received a B.

The class consists of 2 tests, the final, HW and weekly annoying but helpful quizzes. Honestly a really good professor, a little disorganized and stubborn but his worksheets are gonna help a lot to explain things. If you put in the effort and study hard for the tests you'll be fine. Notecards can be used for all tests, final was tricky.

Tests are impossible. Class moves quickly. Online homework is hard, not a lot of it though. Very nice man. Helpful in office hours. Case study is exhausting.

Definitely a tough class. He's a sweet guy, but I think he's too smart to teach. His tests are super specific and he was really excited when the average was a C. When doing the group project, pick a topic that has a lot of literature already on it.

Good professor, but he's VERY NIT PICKY about EVERYTHING! Has daily quizzes which are pretty easy after you get used to them. Exams are difficult because of his wording. He teaches you the material.

A very strange accent that is sometimes hard to understand. A class mostly with chalkboard examples and very little discussion. Condescending.

Does a good job of teaching a somewhat diffucult and boring course. Handouts are helpful and he allows a notecard for the tests. I recommend doing the homework, eventhough he does not collect it.

Really enjoyed the class, which was surprising considering the topic. Class lectures were well organized and homework was actually helpful. The major deliverable in class was a 3 part case project, and expecations were clear. Midterm & exam were take home. I would definitely recommend Dr. Derrick.

Dr. Derrick did a great job of teaching a somewhat difficult course. He was very organized and clear as to what he expected. His handouts and notes help tremendously. The work can be very time consuming but if you go to class and listen, you should be able to do well. I thought he was a very good teacher.

I had to drop my first Bus. Stats class because I had the worst teacher ever. Having come into the class hating it already he did a great job of explaining everything. The handouts he gives are great and he really is a nice guy.

All over the place with discussions, but got the point across. Take home mid-term and final were very difficult. 3 short papers were easy. Get someone to take detailed notes if you miss a class.

This class was cake if you've taken ST465 before taking this class. If you have a firm grip on statistics, then you should be fine. Otherwise, you will have to work some in this course. Material's not overwhelming, but make sure you don't fall behind. Presentation is great idea to present empirical research of your own to your fellow peers.

Dr Derrick is a great teacher and a great Person. He's interesting in class and flexible with deadlines. In EC420, half the test is open book, and half is closed book, DONT FORGET to study for the closed book section! Its Often times harder. Take advanatage of extra credit opportunities.
