Frima is very informed. Her lectures are interesting and concise. She knows how to teach. She's a great professor to have as a freshman. She's also a very sweet woman. Make flashcards for her exams.

She knows a ton about what she knows, which is largely Baroque and Renaissance artwork. An extremely Euro-Centric survey course, but many others are as well. Aside from that the quizzes and test are SUPER easy and non-accumulative. If you participate in class you'll get extra room on test grades. Kind woman but does not mess around with shenanigans

Had for fnd his, and was real fair. Dont need to memorize dates, but do study. She gives handouts of each class of what exactly youre covering and clearly states which pieces could end up on a test and gives you study guides. You write 3-4 papers (last one is a 5 page research one) have 2-4 quizzes and 2 tests.

She literally is the best art history professor I have ever had. She knows the subjects she's teaching very well, and her lecture is fantastic. Work load is not heavy. There are several tests and she is taking it seriously. The test is not hard as long as you listen to her lecture. Overall, she is an AMAZING PROFESSOR.

I took her Baroque Art History. Yes she seems know very well about Baroque. BUT the exam is VERY HARD! For 2 hr Midterm:100+ paintings to remember, 6pages questions include 2sets narrative Qs,2sets of compare&contrast, one long narrative question and one short PAPER based on one of the three academic papers given a week before exam. BE CAREFUL! !!

My favorite teacher I've had at the institution. She knows what she is talking about, and is one of the major figures in Dutch Baroque Art History. She is incredibly fair, but also expects you to do your work.

She's really serious about this subject and she wants you to be too. She's perfectly nice and friendly but has a harsh side. The tests are taken very seriously - she'll check everyones coffee cup for cheaters - but one should know she "wants you to do well" so shell do her best to give you all the information you need.

Really good at making things interesting. Clear and straight forward. Strict but funny. Pay attention in class and the tests will be super easy. I like the way she does an overview of the time period and then focuses in on only a few artists for the tests - it makes studying way easier. Lets you bring a laptop and only takes attendance after break.

Very intelligent woman. She knows her stuff - she wrote part of the textbook for the course! Her tests are fair, but she's a bit strict with things. Overall, a nice person though.

Super intelligent woman. She is one of the writers of the art history textbook for the foundation year. Her classes are so interesting and so many notes to take! Tests are fair, too. Not too much, nor less to study. Just budget your time well and study the slides. Taking good notes will help you a lot that you will read your textbook less!

I took her 17th c. Dutch Still Life seminar (and her Northern Baroque lecture) and I have to say she is fantastic! Dr. H is engaging and really knows the subject matter, and the enthusiasm really rubs off. Definitely take her seminars if you get the chance! It's an opportunity to learn a lot about a subject you may not initially jump for.

Very smart and passionate about art history. It's easy to get on her good side if you go to class on time, don't cheat, stay for the entire class, and turn everything in. She's oddly witty and a bit sarcastic. Somehow able to hold my attention despite the class's status as my naptime.

Really intelligent and knows her stuff. She's a fair teacher and you'll come out learning. Never thought i'd say this about an art history class but i actually enjoy her class. I never bought the book and still did alright. Probably because i paid attention in class. Allows laptops but strict about fb or email. I've never been caught so... :)

Strict in terms of grades and attendance but reasonable. Clear about the subject most of the times, I wish that she would have gone over the vocabulary and terms more consistantly. Her assistant was not very helpful during the review at all.

does not follow the book! I dislike this lady more than any other person ever! she sucks. she is not understanding of students need and cares only for her self and her own image. she thinks shes perfect just because her name is on the cover of the text. she is the most conceided person i know.

Very interesting classs. Exams somewhat easy, but she is one of the only professors who makes a good effort to challenge the graduate students in her class, which most art history professors do not do. She's very helpful with papers.
