Taking this class online. He doesnt give any feedback and doesnt grade discussion boards. He copies all the question for the exam and quizzes from quizlet so do not bother to read the book. Just google.

This online class consisted of tests for every chapter & discussion board writing assignments for each. The tests were easy if you study the book enough, only problem was the time limit. The DB posts were pretty simple & easy too, write for 1 topic & respond to another student's post. Easy as long as you study the chapter thoroughly & do the work.

Took Bierly for PHIL and HIST online so far. His classes are the easiest for me since he has everything laid out right from the start. Gives you good alternatives for discussion boards which I appreciate, no finals, and gives you only weekly tests. Wish he taught more classes since I know what to expect.

All criteria laid out. All you have to do is the work. Do the objectives completely & if you do them with syllabus and by the guidelines, you will receive the grade you earn. He gives options for A (do all), B (do most), etc. & follows through. He emails promptly and will help you and check work for you before you post! Great teacher & experience!!

I took Mr. Bierly's online 8 week class and it was a breeze. All you have to do is read the chapter and then take the corresponding quiz, as well as a discussion board post (paragraph). Such an easy way to get credits, highly recommend!

I probably failed all tests, but got As with the curve. Interesting lectures, but irrelevant to tests. Homework is strictly out of the book. Lots of reading. Extra credit for video responsesfield trips. Funny guy. Takes roll every day, but attendance is not necessary to pass tests. Grades easy, but still a lot of work.

Nice gentleman. Seems very knowledgeable but sadly, he rarely shares his wisdom with us. All of your learning will be from reading the textbook and not from him. Instead of lecturing, he shows old videos EVERY class. They have nothing to do with exam questions. Exams were challenging and based in the textbook. Keep up w/ your reading! Curved class.

I don't know why he is rated as an easy teacher. His lectures have nothing to do with the tests and half of the time he will skip a few chapters but still test you on everything. He bases his class on a curve and you have 4 tests and that's it. My class average was a very low D on all the tests, but everyone passed with the curve. It's a joke.

The syllabus is pretty much your guide for the course. Read the chapters and take the corresponding test and you can't help but earn an "A". If you have any questions ask he responds pretty quickly.

THIS CLASS IS SO HARD ONLINE. I'm a straight A student and this class brought my GPA down. Most of the questions in his tests aren't even in the required reading, I honestly don't know where to find the answers. The only thing that saved me was the curve and that only gave me a C. This class is frustrating, especially online.

Very nice man, but sadly teaching a somewhat boring subject. His grading is fair,, and there are many opportunities for extra credit. Sit through the movies and do all the homework. And like many have said, he does have a monotone voice, but he has a sense of humor when he teaches.

Took online. very straightforward. 14 ch tests. 40 mutl choice q's. one hour to do it. can't retake. for every ch test do a bb post and respond to someone. he was super nice and extended the deadline an extra week so for procrastinators like myself and also for people taking harder classes, it was a life/sleep savor.

Really nice teacher, but really boring. He shows movies a lot, boring movies, and they pretty much have nothing to do with the tests. Tests are based straight out of the book. He is very knowlageable though, hes just monotone. sign in sheet attendance and he offers extra credit.

And nothing he does in class is on the tests (huge curve): there are 4 and are about 50ish multchoice. You do 10 study Qs for each chapter assigned. Final is not cumulative. Attend class bc you have to sign in. Monotone

Super boring. No joke. It?s easy, but time consuming. I got an A, but only because I read each chapter. I didn?t learn anything from him, his powerpts, or movies.

He is very monotone and boring, but he knows history. He grades on a curve and the tests are multiple choice, easy. The only thing hard about the class is staying awake.

I took this as an online class. I was impressed with the types of discussion questions posted by the instructor. I also really liked the text. It was easy to read and I like how it referred you to other pages for more info. Read each Chapter thoroughly and you will have no problem with the chapter tests.
