Dr. Hodge makes you work for his grade. He's a huge fan of quizzes, which you'll only pass if you are up to date with your readings (4 ethnographies). He's a fair grader and passionate about his subject matter. He ties politics into almost every lecture. It's as if he's fusing two courses into one, which is great 'cause you're getting your $ worth.

He was very helpfull and cared a lot about his students. Cared if students understood the work or not. Offered much help and extra time. Gave a lot of reading for homework.. but no papers.. besides extra credit assignments. Gave quizes every 2 weeks, a midterm and a final. STRESSED class participation, overall interesting teacher.

he does give alot of reading and quizes on the reading. the quizes can have trick questions but if something is unfair he gives credit for it. the class was easy if you study the notes and read the books. class participation is a plus. he makes you think about things you wouldnt have. interesting class, not so boring.

He is Mean, Gives a hell of alot of books to to read but never talks about the readings in class. Gets completely off topic, were reading about a tribe in Africa and He talks about how bad Bush is. He gives quizzes every week and if you fail them you also fail his boring class.
