I finished his online class and it was a good class but it took too much of my time. He answers questions quickly and was always nice. Book is not hard and I liked it for this class because most of the problems answers you can see online. The online practice quizzes you can take as many times as you want and have answers. You will work a lot.

He is a horrible professor. He only teaches so people will buy his book which is the only material he uses for his class. So he makes you buy 2 books which he has written. Always be weary of a professor who uses his own books as the only text. His tests are ridiculously hard. memorize his multiple choice online quizzes and you should be ok.

Mostyn encourages you to ask questions and tries to simplify basic accounting theory for your understanding. His teaching style might lack a bit of structure for some people (after he lectures the basic gist of something a lot of self-learning and practice is required), but if you're motivated and work hard, you will do well in his class.

I don't think of him as a good teacher at all. Quizzes are too long for too little time,but his tests are ok. He does not explain well or reviews any material The practice set is a joke. I spent 20 hours working on it and even so I didn't manage to finish the whole thing.

He's really a good teacher, enthusiastic and wants students succeed, not that bad as people said. He brings you lots of real-life situations that might help you later on when you work. he's also humorous and play jokes sometimes during his lectures. Eventually I dropped his class on Fall 2007 due to personal issue but completed it this spring 2010. He paid alot of effort into the textbooks which were written by himself. Love the online quizzes - open book and repeat exercising the question banks!

I took him for 1a and now Im taking him again for 1b so it cant be that bad. He is realllly boring, but he is nice and helpful. Responds quickly to emails and phone calls. Tests are based on the online quizzes. Start your term project asap or you'll be sorry. Work Hard and get an A. If you don't study, you won't pass...typical college course.

I had medical issues during the semester and missed a lot of the classes. This teacher was great in helping me on the phone when I called. He let me take a test late too. The book is easy and the online practice quizzes are a BIG help at home. Lots of assignments. (BTW I missed at least half the classes and still got an A....) :)

Friendly, willing to help, but get ready for a lot of hours if you take his class. You can Ace the class if you put in time on the practice quizzes because quiz and exam questions are right out of the practice. Lectures were good and I liked the group work in class. Confusing, Unlcear, Tough, Strict Marking, Online Quiz (with mutiple calculations for each question in just 1 Min). Highly UNRecommeded. He teach from his own book. He is worse and his book is worst. Go for him & get D or W on ur transcript. He came up with his own book.He skip 100 pages from the book written by himself. Unbelievable. His quizes are online,multiple answers(not multiple choice) to be calculated juz in 1 min 4 each question. This online quizs r tuff, will finish only 2 questions in entire time. He is good at explaining, you learn a lot, but getting a good grade is something else. His test questions totally does not resemble the homework. The questions on the quizzes are difficult even if you read the chapter twice! If you want to learn, take his class. I got a B in Mostyn's class, and I ACED Accounting 1B and Intermediate Accounting.
