Professor Watling is one of the best professors you will ever have. She is one of the most difficult to please/get an A in a class, as long as you pay attention, take notes, participate, and study, you will do OK. She is more than willing to help students if they are putting in the effort. She is also a wicked harsh grader, but you learn a lot!

She's a very nice teacher and wants students to succeed in her class, but there's a heavy workload (and reading) that's required to do that. Papers are difficult but quizzes are easy if you study.

I had Watling for Intro to literature and British Lit and I loved her so much! She was very understanding of people being sick. She only had like 5 or so quizzes and three papers and always gave opportunity to have feedback. She's a tough grader with her papers. She's respected by her students and there for you.

Gabrielle Watling has a great personality and seems to love everyone but when it comes to grading she is extremely tough! My grade went from an A- for the whole semester to a C- last minute because of the final. She liked me as a student, but still tore apart my hard work. Would not advise taking her class unless you enjoy a lot of reading.

First off, she is a nice person, and I think she means well. She might be a good english teacher, but when it comes to teaching honors...not so much. If you don't agree with her, she literally will argue with you relentlessly until you do. She does not allow you to disagree in any way with the course material, in a philosophy-styled class.

Professor Watling is amazing. She is one of the most wonderful english instructors that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She is very helpful and when it comes down to work she wants everyone to do great in her class and in the end who couldn't resist that cute Australian accent!

Loved her as a person, but I just could not please Gabs. The course is half over and I haven't received over a C- on anything and I'm an honors student!

Gabby was a great professor. She was so easy to talk to.. and would meet with you anytime you wanted. Her classes were very challenging. In my first class with her I got many Cs on papers and gradually, those grew into As. In my second class with her, I got nothing below and A. She taught me how to write, and with persistance and by paying attention, anyone can do the same. Amazing professor.

Very hard class! Not helpful at all. She will look over your paper before hand and you can make all of the changes she suggests, and she will still give you a "C."
