I've only experience one class period with this teacher so far this semester and I can already tell I'm going to enjoy this class. I like how up front she is and she don't hold back her words I LOVE THIS PROFESSOR. I recommend everybody to try this class but if you can't handle pressure and insults stay away

I thought this teacher did a good job covering the material, and her tests were easy. Her notes were lengthy and repeatative, and I found her judgemental personal opinions odd considering she was teaching a class which was supposed to instruct the students how to better communicate with people of other cultures and reaces.

Van Etten was a little intimidating at first but Im very happy I stayed in her class. She's very helpful and understanding. However she doesnt like slackers.... As long as you show up and do the in-class assignments you will get an A. Overall a great instructor and class.

Gail is a very good teacher, and she is very fair. I had questioned her on several answers on a test, and proved that she had a gray line answer which she would have marked wrong for the class, but I proved that she was gray/border, and she gave us credit. She is very open to things like that. Just don't be late. Very good experience!

Professor VanEtten comes across very strong and strict at orientation, and remains that throughout the semester. Her biggest requirement is that you attend class, how can you learn if you don't is my question? She respects everyone, answers questions, and reviews material that you have questions on until you understand it. Very good teacher!

Gail is a fantastic teacher. She has a very strict attendance policy though. You take your tests in groups and they are open book. She makes learning about the cultures very entertaining. Great, funny lectures. I would highly reccomend her. There is a 15 minute oral presentation at the end of the semester, but you can even get in a group for that.
