I don't understand why chochev is a professor. He doesn't know how to teach and he spends more time saying umah during class than actually helping the students. He's rude and doesn't understand the material himself. If you see him in the hallways he'll give you a dirty look. If you ask him any questions good luck.

Avoid taking any class with Dr. Ganchev. If you are a CS major take CS170 with Dr. Murthy even if that gives you a tough schedule. He is also demanding but you will learn something. I know because I have taken classes with both professors

I started in Computer Science a few years back and this class was the reason why I switched majors. Hes super quiet and no one speaks up saying they can't hear him because he can be quite rude and wouldn't change his ways anyways. Tests were 100x harder than my Calculus 3 tests, if that tells you anythingh

Definetly the hardest class I've ever taken. Many sleepless nights trying to figure out the almost impossible programs he assigned. If you have any choice, don't take his classes. But then again, the other CS professors are terrible too. Good luck.

He is an awful teacher and person. He is unclear in his directions, lazy, irrational, unjust and just an overall horrible human being. On top of that, he is incapable of teaching, reads off power-points that are basically plagiarized from the book during lectures, and is seriously disorganized. He actually managed to get 3 weeks behind the syllabus

There is one group project and two exams. He doesn't teach well, so you pretty much guess everything. No one passes his exams so he just curves everything, I'm assuming because he doesn't want other teachers and the dean to know how bad a teacher he is. He is retiring soon, so high-schoolers, consider yourself lucky.

Took CS250 with him, the course was in depth and very difficult as the tests and projects were pretty much impossible but the internet helps a lot. He grades very tough and docks heavily for minor errors.

He is a very boring lecturer who reads off his slides 99% of the time. I would not take his classes if there was an option. He is a competent programmer who knows his stuff, but that does not mean he can teach. His assignments are extremely difficult and generally have little to do with the course slides. The exams are beyond intensive.

Test are brutal!!! Class notes and powerpoints does not relate to test. Ganchev is smart but to pass his class, it requires lots of work at home and studying for the class. I would suggest studying from textbooks or online about C++ before taking the class.

Prof Ganchev is a very robust man. Don't expect any jokes in class, and be prepared to keep focused for the entire class session, because the man has his stuff together, and doesn't go over things twice. Tests are brutal, so are hwk assignments. You WILL learn stuff though. So that's good. As an adviser , he is an excellent one. Surprisingly caring

Ganchev is the most horrible professor i have EVER had! He never says things more then once.so if ask him to go over something again your on your own. He may be a great C++ programer but he can't seem to teach us what we need to know. 100% of his teachings is off of power point and 100% of his tests have nothing todo with his powerPoints.

When you first meet him, he looks like this adorable old man with a cute accent. Don't be fooled! You barely can ever understand what he's saying. He can't speak or type English, and not to mention is very bias towards students. He's a terrible teacher and he makes me hate that class more than anything. He doesn't explain well either!

Wow! What a hard class this was. Dr. Ganchev is a great professor - he explains things very clearly and he knows C++ very well. I learned, but I had a Hell of a time with this class. The tests are absolutely miserable - some fill in the blanks, and explain the error. The programs went above and beyond what we covered in class. But he is brilliant.

Dr. Ganchev is extremely intelligent, excellent knowledge of CS. If your not interested in CS then you probably gave him a bad score. If you want to become the best you can be at programming definitely take him. He is always willing to help and is extremely fair. If you want to coast by and be ignorant maybe you should switch to COM as a major
