His 8 week courses are DENSE. Each week is accompanied by a discussion followed by a 20 question quiz with 15 min. time limits. He provides a generous amount of reading every week and unfortunately some of the articles are very outdated, difficult to understand. Then quizzes themselves are unpredictable. 2 3-page essays and 1 5-page final paper.

I took this class online over and 8 week period. I really enjoyed this class and am going to take another one of his classes. I found the information interesting a really liked how he added humor to some of his descriptions of the videos and articles. If you do the work you will pass, but in order to pass the quizes you MUST do the reading.

Really cool professor, lectures a lot and can get a little boring but he does a pretty good job of keeping it interesting, never used the textbook, tests are super easy, gave us like 2-3 pop quizzes during the year, super easy class and learned a lot.

AWESOME! Enjoyed his lectures. VERY knowledgeable. I recorded his lectures (he didn't mind) and to pics of his power-points. Plenty of extra credit. Straight forward guy. No BS! I didn't buy the book. He will work with you IF you are not trying to get over on him. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I took his class at 5:30-6:45pm. I would take ANY of his classes!

You definitely do not need a textbook. He's fairly laidback which is a blessing and a curse at times. He has 3 exams and you can choose 1 out of 3 topics for a mandatory essay. He's pretty cool, but his disorganization, lack of awareness, and the fact that he doesn't post grades online can irk people more than it irked me.

You do NOT need the book - the modules/study guides are good enough for tests. Lots of reading. LONG (sometimes 4+ hours) videos. DB are a HUGE portion of your grade - which is good. Tests are difficult because time constraint (20 questions, 15 minutes max, 1 attempt). Work due Mondays. Easy grader. Offers some Extra C. Doesn't grade till end.

Pretty easy class, main portion of your grade are your discussions which are pretty easy to do. Tests are difficult if you don't really pay attention to the readings. He'd always post multiple YouTube videos for each chapter that were longer than 3 hours like people actually watched it. Extra credit is pointless because it'll only raise grade .5%.

I took his online Hum 110 class and I must say that he is quite organized and his expectations are clear. He gave A LOT of material (textbook, online articles, movies), so if you're not genuinely interested in cultures and civilizations then I don't think it's worth it. I got an A but it's because I really read everything and studied.

Doctor Garreth was an exceptionally well read and qualified teacher for the blues humanities class. He has a great sense of humor and is quite charming. You have to genuinely be interested in the course material to appreciate his expertise lessons. I would definitely take his class again. Thanks Dr. G!

Do the discussions and he gives full credit for them. I learned this after the class was over because he did not grade until grades came out for the accelerated class. Got an A for discussion board with feed back, but I was always uneasy about my final grades because the dbs are important and not graded.

Easy fun class, with interesting material about early cultures, Rome/Greece etc. Weekly quiz and discussion boards and a few essays. A major criticism is that nothing was graded until two weeks after the class ended so you had no way of knowing how you were doing, plus the teacher was somewhat disorganized and often late in posting assignments.

I took the accelerated version, so it felt like more work than it actually was. Weekly postings/assignments. A couple essays and a term paper. Offers extra credit essays. Makes you work for your grade, but learned a lot. you NEED to read the chapters/material if you expect to pass the tests. They are timed, so be prepared!

Dr. D-M does not grade anything until about 2 weeks after grades are due. I took this as an online class in 8 weeks, so the class was pretty fast paced. 20 test q's with 15 mins to answer them. To study for the tests, read the objectives. He changes due dates and forgets to open modules on time. Do the discussions and he gives full credit for them.

This was honestly one of the worst online courses I have ever experienced. He did not grade anything until the class was completely over. The tests were close to impossible no matter how much you read and study. He words things in a really difficult way which makes it even harder to understand what he was asking of you.

he is about 20 mins late to every lecture. Never got a syllabus or calendar. In this class, there are a lot of "oh by the way you have an exam next class" comments or "don't forget your paper is due a week from today" when we have yet to receive the prompt. Would not recommend to any normal organized person.

To put it lightly, this guy is a DBag. Late nearly EVERY day, and don't expect to receive your syllabus until week 7. I think he procrastinates the same if not more than his students do. Its an easy class, but he makes it not enjoyable. Always pushing back tests because he forgets to send information.
