Rude, disrespectful to students. The guy is basically a mathematician and it's quite obvious he has never been involved in the actual movement of goods from point A to point B, yet he is quite arrogant and thinks he knows it all. As someone else so beautifully commented - I don't think he could fill out a FedEx AWB.

Garland is a nice enough guy, but sometimes it is difficult to follow his train of thought. The course materials are extremely old and in desperate need of updating.

Really rude and disrespects the students. This is my 5th year and he is the honestly the most condescending prof I have had at UBC. I would not recommend this instructor and I think he needs to learn some classroom manners. He also makes false generalizations (assuming that all that women do is shop). Avoid.

Basically a mathematician...and a rude one at that. No real life experience in transportation or logistics . I dont think he would even know how to fill out a Fedex waybill let alone handle practical matters of transportation and logistics.

Not helpful at all. Poor attitude during office hours. Gives attitude when we don't read an article that he handed out 5 minutes ago. Keeps repeating himself when he talks in class. One question, in a business school that stresses case studies and application on concepts, he still makes us remember minute details from each case for exam?
