Avoid if possible. Gives terrible feedback and doesnt even bother to read some of the material he expects you to read. Gives odd grades (someone got a B+++ and someone else got a B+/A- and never figured out what those grades meant). Changes essay questions on a whim and doesnt seem to read your essays.

Interesting man. Lectures well! You either get a B,B+,A- on papers. His comments he emails you on your papers are short and unhelpful. Never gives A's on papers. His office hours are abysmal. I was one of the best of the class, and honestly I feel like he gave out random grades to everyone. Its hard to get an 'A' in his class. But A-, B+, isn't.

I learned an enormous amount from Professor Dennie. For non history majors, Professor Dennie's penchant to discuss historiography might seem tedious. FOr the history major, however, it is the food we need to become historians ourselves.

Professor Dennie is extremely intelligent and articulate. His lectures are filled with personal stories and meaningful history. Not just a regurgitation of historical events but a walk through social and intellectual history exploring the various ideologies which make up our world. You will learn and you will pass and you will love it!!!!
