Comment:

Briggs is a good teacher and knows what he's talking about but he doesn't take slackers. Go to class, do the homework and put an effort into learning the material and you will do good. Tests are based exactly off of homework and quizzes so there's no surprises. Overall it's not the easiest class but you will learn a lot! I definitely recommend.

Best professor I had this semester and one of the best I've ever had period. Very clear and blunt - tells you straight up @ the beginning if you are a slacker get out now bc you will fail. Expects you to do your work, which for some (lazy) people is surprising. I thought it was going to be a horrible class and I loved it and got an A :)

Professor Briggs really knows his stuff. He keeps class interesting. We never have handed homework in but he warns us at the beginning of the semester that if people do not bring their homework to class, he will start to collect it. As long as you do the work, read the book and pay attention you'll do fine.

He is a very great teacher ! If you do the homework (he goes over it every class and randomly calls on people) and keep up with the readings (must read every chapter), you will do fine. Don't be afraid to ask questions. I recommend him for those who really want to learn the material.

GPA 3.20. Lectures are very informative. Intriguing stories keep class interesting. Homework is expected to be done, but not collected. Quizzes and Tests can be difficult, but Briggs is always willing to help. Tough exterior, but great guy overall.

Any question you ask he will take the time to find and get you the answer to if he doesn't know it off the top of his head. Knows his stuff, but we're mostly beginners and he acts like you should already know everything! You dont actually learn the hw til after you do it. huh?! so you dont know what youre doing. he calls on you and youre supposed to know the answer? no! tests= hard. had to drop at the last minute cuz i was on the brink of failing & didnt want to risk it

I LOVE this professor, my favorite prof. in Brockport. He knows his stuff, great method of teaching. If you do & study the hw he assigns, you will do great bc his tests are like the hw and maybe easier. He tells you whats going to be on the tests. You learn a LOT from him, and he tells funny real life stories to connect his teaching. AWSOME A+++

Briggs is a really good teacher! Do your homework because he will call on you and always have your book with you in class or he will call you out. Despite his somewhat hard grading if you follow simple instructions you will do fine. He tells a lot of stories that help time go by faster. Take a class with him hes great!

Horrible teacher. I will never take a class with him again. He starts class saying - "by the end of the semester half of you will not be here." By the end about 2/3 of the class had dropped. He is an EXTREMELY HARSH grader. He will take off points for EVERYTHING. Also, entire grade based on 3 test and final. Thats it. DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH HIM!

i love this man! he is so freaken smart and tells great stories to make accounting relatable - he managed to make a horrible subject interesting. DO YOUR HOMEWORK EVERY NIGHT cause he calls on people to go over it. tests and quizzes are a bit tricky but if you study your golden. i walked out of that class actually understanding accounting
