Does anyone HEAR what he's saying? I swear all he does is mumble. He never speaks loud enough for even the second row to hear him. Everyone had the same problem they just thought it wasn't worth mentioning. I am glad it's OVER. I am never taking another class with this man. It definitely is his own little world.

oh whatever, i took the same exact class and missed maybe 1 day and payed attention and took notes and got a C in his class! All As and just 1 C...in his class! I knew the stuff just didn't write it like he would have liked i guess, but he is very interesting and so was the class

Brodsky is a great professor! I can't believe he got negative comments, hes is very knowledgeable and never tests on anything that he hasn't covered in class, you HAVE to go to class, can't stress that enough, maybe thats why people rate him poorly, because they skip his lectures and expect a good grade. Just listen and participate! A++++++++++

His class is very hard bcoz in class essays but if you work hard and try to improve your quality he will help you lot he is nice guy. he is very funny i like him and i would like to take another class with him. he is really nice person and great soul. he has lot of knowledge too he knows how much you know.

Brodsky is terrible. You could go to his class every day and take excellent notes and you'd still get a C on his tests. They are one question tests and either you know it or you don't. If I didn't need the English minor I would have dropped his class in a heartbeat. Try to aviod him if at all possible, unless you're some crazy english buff.

Wow, I'm suprised Dr Brodsky got some negative comments. I guess you need to like his style. He reads the NewYorker and probably H.L. Mencken (though this I can't prove). Yeah, he was a bit tough, yeah, he calls you by your last name, but if you asked him not to, he wouldn't. He is an EXCELLENT guide through British literature.

He is a wonderful professor. I had no preconcieved notions about him, but I'm so glad I took his class. He is witty, intelliegent, and I learned more from him than I thought I would. Highly recommend you take his class.

I cannot believe this man is a teacher, let alone the director of the Eng. Department. The way he spoke to the students in his class...I was speechless...he has no respect. Learned very little in class and left at the end of the semester dissapointed at him and Northeastern for having such a person in a college. A waste of money, you won't learn.

Bravo to Dr. Brodsky! One of the best teachers I've had in my entire life. Smart, funny, extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. Because his wit sense of humor and a very edgy and sharp intellect, students don't understand him very well, which is a shame. He touched my life in a good way.

I know some people think he's a hardass, but he's really not. Brodsky has been one of the best English teachers I've had in my NEIU career. His tests can be difficult, but his dry wit make the lectures entertaining.

I was appauled when he would tell our class..."your all going to fail." What kind of professional says something like that to modivate his class - ooopss...I guess one that becomes the English director. In all, he is unfit to be where he is...though he may be intelligent he's a bad teacher!
