Very nice professor. That being said his lectures are all over the place. Just study what is on the outlines he hands out in class and you will do fine.

Heisermann is a nice guy and friendly. But the class was not organized well. He flooded us with information but we didn't know the priority for studying. Tough to get office hours, syllabus info inaccurate, didn't sync with lab well, didn't post slides before class or in a timely manner. Tough class. good book, interesting material

I would strongly advise against taking class with this man unless you are interested in wasting your money and time. I have a genuine interest in the material and he makes it very difficult to follow as he is very scatter brained. If you are at all interested in LEARNING from a professor and not simply a textbook, find another bio class.

He is a nice teacher, often goes off on tnagents during lecture but sometimes will surprise you by putting part of the tangent on the test. If you read the chapter ahead of time he is helpful in clarifying things you didn't understand but otherwise difficult to follow

very difficult to learn from, very spatial thinker and horribly disorganized lecturer. Made the class prep hard by lecturing poorly & skipping around so reading and lecture were difficult to keep straight. Sometimes tested on things he never mentioned and weren't in text. Review your test after his grading for sure. Thorough tester.

He's a very nice person although creepy at times. His exams are difficult and are on materials not covered in lecture. His lectures are unclear and he doesn't know what he's talking about. I hardly took notes in the lectures because I didn't understand half of the things. but he posts them online.

Heisermann is a horrible teacher. I went to his office hours to talk about a midterm and all he talked about was how his daughter did this and that. Although he has a good educational bkgrd, he goes off in tangents. Seemed to me he's not much respected by other CGS professors. Not recommended.

He is a very smart guy, but you'd never know it. Hes an awful teacher, but if you go for extra help you'll get a least a full grade higher...;0)

I have been very disappointed in this class. He is very unorganized and does not cover the material to the degree that the CAS BI108 section does.

He is a genuinely nice person with an extensive educational background. It's too bad he wastes his education hopelessly attempting to teach at CGS... He'd make a much better researcher.

4th semester with him. Thought he'd be better teaching bio than physics considering he has multiple degrees in bio, but I was wrong. Very nice guy and good 1 on 1. Lectures are pointless since the book covers everyhing, but he makes them mandatory.

Very sweet guy even though he doesn't know what he's talking about some of the time. He can make very funny comments during lectures and definatly has a few crushes on his students. He's a really nice guy but doesn't prepare you enough for the final.

Keeps lectures interesting with visual aids and some off-topic discussions. Occasionally seems to lose his train of thought. Some exam questions seem sort of random.

a very friendly guy, will always offer extra help if you need it. sometimes a little unclear in lecture, but if you talk to him 1 on 1, he'll explain it well. The class was fairly easy, just do the reading and go to JSA.
