Kennedy took simple concepts and made them more confusing than they need to be. Very old fashioned. Hardly posts online so you never really know your grade. Doesn't explain well enough. If you can avoid this teacher, then do so! Doesn't give partial credit. Math used to be my favorite subject, but now I dread going to class.

Very nice guy, but everything I learned in the course was from reading the textbook or getting help from tutors. He shows example after example without really teaching you how to do the problems. He's just too smart to teach this course, he acts like he doesn't understand why anyone would ever struggle with calculus.

Too smart. Very little time on examples like those found on the exams. Topic being covered was often very unclear and the online homework assignments did not help clarify. Grade based on 3 exams and a final. Did sample exams before each real exam but they were hardly helpful. More difficult than it should've ever been. Extra credit saved my grade.

If you aren't skilled in math, or need an easy math credit, here it is. I've always hated math up until taking this course-- it's unlike any other math class I've been in. It's easy and interesting. Student teachers and Kennedy are all super helpful. Kennedy even let me make up recitations that I had missed by coming in during office hours!

From the first 5 minutes of the first class of the semester I could tell that professor Kennedy had no idea how to teach a class. He mandates that you work with a group to do the practice worksheets, and most of the time doesn't do anything to teach the material, can be very condescending and rude. I would avoid this professor if at all possible.

Easy math class. If you need any help he is always willing. DO THE PRACTICE EXAMS. The real exams are almost exact duplicates; same types of problems, different numbers/variables.

I had him for math 116 and he is a terrible teacher. I knew a lot coming into the class from high school, so I did okay in the class. But I used to love math before this, and he made me hate coming to class. He does not help people who struggle, and he thinks everyone should be as good as he is in math. Do not take him if there are otner options!!!

I intensely disliked every second spent with Gary Kennedy. I agree with whoever posted a few ahead of me: he is too smart for our level. He's so good at math, he doesn't understand how someone else can't also be good at it. His job is to teach, but I learned very little. Also can be quite pompous.

NEVER take this professor unless there is no other choice!!!! Our entire grade was based on three exams with no quizzes whatsoever. He expected us to have massive amounts of material memorized overnight!!!
