Gary is a great professor. He cares about the students' progress a lot and that is very apparent from his teaching style. The assignments are good and so are the quizzes. If you show up to the class and do the assignments and prepare for the quizzes you will do well. If you don't you either have to be very smart or have covered the material before

He's extremely knowledgable in his field and is always calm and kind when dealing with even the most annoying/silly questions. He truly cares about his students and the subject he teaches. EASY A.

Very solid guy, gives good lectures which are very important in this lecture heavy course! Only complaint is that the last two chapters were rushed through extremely fast, however this happened in all lecture sections despite teacher.

Like others have mentioned in the previous years/semesters, Gary is the best! Simply going to lectures and reading his notes afterwards should be enough to understand the basics that are taught. In addition to that, doing the practice questions and going to his tutorials will prepare you enough to feel confident with any mid term/final!

Gary is a wonderful person. The class average for Number Theory was 73% which I think is really high. I struggled because Gary is too smart for me, but he is extremely helpful and so so so kind. My only criticism: He tends to go off on tangents about unrelated things so if you are easily distracted, I don't recommend him.

Honestly the BEST math professor I have ever had. Super helpful in class, e-mailed back detailed responses to questions within the hour. He even started calling me by name within the first week or two and I don't even know how he knew! Overall an amazing prof, very personal. DEFINITELY recommend :)

Gary's great. His notes are straight forward and he doesn't require you waste money at the bookstore on a text you won't use. Assignments can be solved using just the notes and the final was open book, open notes, open anything as long as it was on paper. He even gave us some of the harder questions beforehand to solve at home if we felt like it.
