Gary is going to be retiring or is retiring, so if you can take any classes with him before he is gone, I urge you to do so. He is an amazing, interesting and funny professor who will force you to think about things under a new light. One of the best courses I've taken at Moravian. Also, make sure you take advantage of his office hours!

Overall, the class is taught very well. He is definitely a stickler about attendance, but you really do have to go to class often to get a good grade. He lectures a lot, and we watched a few interviews/documentaries, which are interesting. I wouldn't recommend taking the class unless you're really interested in International Politics.

Probably the best professor at MoCo. Very enthusiastic. Has his views but is extremely open to everyone's. As long as you can defend your views you'll be fine. Very respectful and understanding. Learned a tremendous amount. Can't say enough good things about him or his classes. If you are at Moravian I greatly suggest taking a Gary Olson class.

Dr. Olson carries a vast knowledge about his discipline and allows for interesting and engaging discussions. While he is respectful of differing viewpoints, be forewarned the presentation of material in class skews hard left (and Olson won't deny this either). Definitely would recommend: heavily discussion based, so participation counts!

He absolutely is NOT disrespectful of others' beliefs... that's a ridiculous statement. If you can back up your beliefs with FACT, then he'll listen to you and grade you fairly - however, if you slack off in the class because you don't agree with him politically, you WILL NOT DO WELL.
