Comment:

Entertaining and funny as a lecturer but sort of a disconnect with tests. Many questions were not based on book or notes. Not really helpful outside class, and expectations were not clear. Worked hard but did not do as well as expected because of unclear information. Also, taught new matl up to test day--rushed.

He literally will spend the whole entire class period talking about NOTHING that has to do with the material. If you want to pass, you have to read 100%.The tests are stupid hard. Sometimes he expects you to remember dumb things he talked about in class that make no sense so just listen carefully. Hes also very opinionated and has no filter.

Comment:

The worst teacher I've had in all my years of school. He does not teach anything. Instead, he goes off on tangents that have nothing to do with the material that he's supposed to be talking about. If you want to pass, you have to teach yourself. Would not recommend taking his class.

I was really excited about taking child psych when he was my professor. I was let down because he never really taught during class. He also is very sarcastic which was sometimes offensive. I didn't buy the textbook and still ended up doing okay in the class. You can get through the class but you definitely have to teach yourself.

Dr. Pavek is a really funny and smart professor. He expects you to read the chapter before lecture, which is fair. He often asks questions in class that relate to the lecture to see if you understand. His tests are multiple choice, and sometimes he will curve the tests. He also gives many extra credit opportunities. I enjoyed taking his class.

He goes off topic too much, better off reading the textbook. If you want to fool around in class, this is the professor you want. He goes easy on students if they ask for extension, etc. He counts attendance and tests. Those are your only grades, so be prepared for the tests by reading chapters.

Dr. Pavek is a great professor. He really makes classes fun & relaxing. If there's any class that you're likely to laugh in, it's this one. Extra points for his sarcasm too! ;). The tests are easy, and the fill-ins(just read and fill at home) he gives really help your grade. He really teaches to the test, so if you take good notes, you'll pass.

Pavek's lectures were amazing! He was hilarious and made everything, like brain anatomy, interesting. He did have a bit of trouble organizing content and following the textbook at the beginning, but this improved as the course progressed. VERY few assignments -- only four major tests and eight optional homework assignments, so make sure you study!

Dr. Pavek is a super cool dude but sucks as a professor. His texts are barely based on the notes and he doesn't really give you a review sheet with what to expect. If you don't do well on the texts you won't do well in the class because that's the only thing you're graded on. Would never take him again and wish I never did in the first place.

Don't take him. Unless you are a good listener then take him otherwise he doesn't give good notes. He tries to explain something and he goes off topic. Doesn't give hw to help your grade, he only gives exams and you have to pass those and read the chapters. If you don't read the chapters he will fail you and he doesn't care.

Honestly I don't know why this guy still teaches. He'll spend a majority of the class making dumb jokes and being sarcastic and then try to cram his lesson into the last 10 minutes of class. If you want to pass you pretty much have to teach yourself and just read the textbook. Theres no other graded material besides the 4 tests. Would not recommend

He's a good professor, but he's not going to just hand out the grade you want. You have to read the chapters or at least skim them. He provides the notes for you, just add to them when he's talking. The tests are hard because he makes you think about the situation. I enjoyed his class because he made the material amusing and easy to relate to.

The notes given to you are not whats fully on the test. Lectures are boring with him complaining how our generation is lazy because we don't read the textbook (which he's right about for 80% of the class). He just reads over the powerpoint and doesn't give much insight. Overall not bad just read and teach yourself. thats how I managed

He was funny in the beginning, but his sarcastic, cynical jokes got old. Says to just study his notes, but you need to read text as well. No homework or quizzes to boost grade. Says he will do a couple extra credit papers in the beginning, but after begging him and asking him about he only gave us one. Doesn't really care if you do well or not
