Mr. Schmitz was a great teacher. Unlike my other english teachers, he actually taught us something. He gave lectures and assignments about grammar which was nice cause most teachers just expect the students to already know proper grammar. I was super nervous taking his class because there are only 10 assignments in the whole semester.

Professor Schmitz is a very nice man. He gives great feedback on papers throughout the course. There are 4 IRP's you must write, 1 research paper with the topic of your choice, and 2 Literature essays. Although this seems like a lot it is not bad. The IRP's are based off of stories and poems you read. Great class and professor!

He is a very pleasant guy, pretty humorous, and fair when it comes to grading. If you have questions, he encourages you to ask them. I stayed after class countless times because I didn't understand something and he would try and approach it differently to help me.

While you do write a lot of IRPS, he is very helpful if you don't know what to write or how to write it. All you have to do is ask for help and he is there to give it. I hated English and he made it enjoyable.

Pretty good teacher. Can be a rough grader for papers, but it depends on how you do in the class. IRP's are the worst as you have to try and i mean TRY to just get a 1220 which is a bad grade. He grades those harder than the actual papers. Minus the IRP's, he was a good and informative teacher.

Awesome for creative writing (that's the only class I took with him). He gave good advice and tips for writing and was willing to help me with pieces outside of class, even if I wasn't working on them for class. Fun and fairly easy-going. Great class!

I had him for creative writing. He is a great teacher. The only problem I had with the class was the work load. I dropped the class after 3 weeks because in the first three weeks of class,we had already had to turn in 8 short papers! If you have more classes or a job,DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER CLASSES OR A JOB!!You won't have time
