The nicest teacher ever and really cares about his students and is more than willing to help you learn and understand! Class isn't easy, there is a lot of busy work like math hw and labs but he curves. Ask for practice tests and quizzes they are usually similar. Final and dept final hard so make sure you know material! I only used the book for hw.

He is awesome! This class is hard, but he gives you countless opportunities to learn. He has office hours that are imperative if you want to pass. He gives previous tests to study from and he is totally available to help. He is clear about grading and very fair with points. I would take another class taught bt him.

I really enjoyed his class but it wasn't easy getting an A. You must go to his tutoring sessions in order to do well. He gives you alot of practice exams and quizzzes that pretty much mirror what will be given in class. Speed is essential as you are not given that much time to complete the quizzes and exams.

He really cares about his students. It is a difficult class which is to be expected. But he offers sessions before class, after class, and during class to go over exam problems and homework problems & grades tests really quickly (so you get feedback right away). He'll also give you old exams that he has given so you can study from them.

Gary Strathearn--the nicer twin borthers. He is very helpful, but he does not explains concepts well, so you will have to read the book yourself. He is an easier grader compare to other science profs, but you have to study a lot. His exams more based on math rather than chemistry and wording is unclear. His exams do not help you to pass the dept. final!

Teacher was okay (not very nice though), though five hours of Chem every day in the summer was more than I could stand, so I dropped. It was more due to my incompetence than his that I couldn't do it. He was clear enough, though, for a chemistry teacher.

Very helpful. Has lots of office hours and will stay after and help you if needed. Cares about his students suceeding. Gives extra credit. Lots of homework and tests, but if you are prepared they will help your grade a ton. Ask for practice exams and quizzes asap and he will email them out. Go to office hours & he will give hints for the quiz/test.

Lies! He's the hardest prof I've taken. His exams are unnecessarily difficult. Test questions are nothing like what we do in class. More like a physics class (i.e. lots of math) than a beginning chem class. Take him only if you want your GPA destroyed.

If you need to take CHem 10, this is the professor to take. He is very clear and continuously reviews the information so that it is conditioned in your mind. The class is not only about memorization but it also requires you to be able to understand the formula so you can manipulate it to fit the problem. TAKE HIM VERY GOOD TEACH

hw every week, you need to put in some work if you want an A. he's very nice and helpful, but only if you respect him and follow lab directions. if you get 100% on the MC part, or get the highest on the free response on the final, you automatically get an A in the class. get a good seat and be sure to ask questions in class or go to his office hrs!

Prof. Strathearn is the really the best! He really cares about his students. If you're not getting the subject matter, he will make extra time to work with you one on one. It's like having your own private tutor. If you don't mind putting in the effort, he'll double the effort he puts in and you'll do great!

*FANTASTIC PROFESSOR* Teaches the math and conversions so no matter how hard it might be, you should GET IT! Funny, and makes the lectures interesting. Didn't even need to use the LRC tutor, because I GOT IT! Summer Session is intense and you need to study, but only 3 exams + final. As Chemistry goes TAKE GARY STRATHEARN!!!
